This is an account of my experience with the law firm Shaheen & Gordon, specifically in regards to attorney Jim Rosenberg.  I was unjustly levied with some very serious charges by the State and was facing some serious repercussions, including major jail time as a result.  My situation called for a jury trial, and finding the right representation was crucial as my life was literally on the line.  I interviewed a lot of lawyers before meeting with Jim, who came recommended by an associate.  Jim made an immediate positive impression on me during our first consultation that secured him as my attorney, and it was by far the best decision I made in regards to the case.  

Jim came to our initial consultation thoroughly prepared, with detailed notes in addition to printed copies of my source material that were highlighted and annotated.  He presented to me an immediate enthusiasm for my case as he passionately discussed it in detail, picking apart all the holes in the State's story.  Jim was so enthusiastic about my case that even though I regrettably had to leave the meeting early, he actually walked with me out to my vehicle, all the while still discussing the case, in order to maximize our time!  It was clear he was already vested in me, even though I hadn't yet given him a commitment!  I felt immediately comfortable and at ease with Jim as he has a very charismatic way about him that I knew a potential jury would love.  He briefly demonstrated, through role play, how he would cross at trial.   I was thoroughly impressed!  Jim was very eloquent and quick witted, he seemed to never be at a loss for words and knew exactly the right thing to say in any given circumstance even after a proverbial curve ball.  This would hold true throughout the duration he served as my counsel, both in and out of the courtroom!

What is often overlooked in regards to the trial process is everything that happens leading up to trial.  There is a lot that happens beforehand and behind the scenes, discussions and interactions with agents of the state such as police personnel and prosecutors.  In many ways these interactions are almost as important as the trial itself, as how the state perceives you and your council can help dictate how they treat and proceed against you.  This is another area where Jim excels, as his charismatic nature and good rapport ensured smooth interactions with all elements of the State where often times there can be resistance and non cooperation.  It never hurts to keep the gates of communication open and amiable.  

 Going through the criminal trial process can be a very stressful and emotionally draining ordeal, however Jim always remained positive and upbeat.  He made me feel comfortable and confident at all times, he graciously provided me his personal contact information and made it clear that I could contact him for any reason at any time.  Jim also let me do things my way and didn't dictate how I was to proceed during the process.  He made it clear that he worked for me, and though he would advise and direct me, it was ultimately my decision of how to proceed in the end.

During our subsequent trial prep meetings, we discussed every potential strategy, approach, and circumstance in regards to how to proceed with the case.  No stone was left unturned, no potential idea was too taboo to discuss, and there were no stupid questions.  Jim had me as prepared as could be for the trial, including potential cross on the stand, and all possible outcomes for the case.  Though we were fully prepared and ready for trial, with the utmost confidence in our case, the State ended up dropping all charges right before jury selection which was the best possible outcome!  

Be that as it was, I would have had the utmost confidence in Jim had it gone to trial and I would not have wanted anyone else in front of a jury defending me.  Words cannot express how pleased I have been with Jim Rosenberg from Shaheen & Gordon, I couldn't be happier and I would hire him again in a heartbeat!

I hired Ben Siracusa-Hillman  to help me navigate my sister's estate when she passed suddenly last October.  I live in PA and he served as my agent in NH which saved quite a bit of time and trouble.  He explained the process and outlined each step before we made it, and was always available by phone and email when I needed clarification.  I would recommend him if you need assistance navigating the legal system after the death of a loved one.
