I stopped in with my mom for a quick dinner. The gentleman that took our order was very pleasant and helpful. We ordered a Small Shakey's Special Pizza & a 1/2 order of Mojo Potatoes. The crust of the pizza was crisp. The cheese was gooey and the toppings were distributed evenly and combined together for a great bite. Mojo Potatoes are always a tasty treat. However, in this case they were lukewarm, making them slightly less delicious. If you're particular about your potatoes, make sure they are freshly made. It wasn't perfect, but it was a nice meal.
Great customer service fast friendly Going to have to come back and check out the food bar!! Looks yummy great teamwork! Grand babies loved the pizza, games and wanted the mac..but we were taking food to go this time...maybe offer it to go??? Grand kids Mac and cheese!! Other than that great visit! Kid-friendliness: Great acknowledgement of my grandbabies!
Food is horrible! All food is microwaved by the taste of it, and the restaurant is super hot inside. NO AIR CONDITIONING! Salad is probably the only good thing to eat there, but poor lighting at the salad bar is kind of hard to see if what your choosing looks fresh! Do better Shakeys!Food: 1/5
Everyone knows that Shakey's is famous for its pizzas, chicken and mojo and that's one of the reasons I keep coming back. But today 07/17/24 after work I went to the Northridge, California location and my pizza was not fresh, very hard dough and not to mention the fried chicken was very salty. Sad experience!Food: 3/5
This is a FANTASTIC Shakey's Pizza Parlor. The only thing missing is the pizza makers throwing little dough balls at the window while you are watching like they did in the old days. LOL But this brings back the Old Days for me in every way when we go there and I love walking in because it brings me right back to my youth. The ambiance is there pretty good too like it was in the old days. Shakey's has been around a long long time and I am so glad about that! Now the FOOD: Deeee-licious! The coating on the fried chicken is crispy and a bit spicy just a little bit but we always get enough to take home and the chicken is delicious cold too! The mo-jo's are perfect and the pizza is real fine and the salad bar is varied and always a joy to go to with my plate. *It cannnn be noisy with kids running around and families but we try to find a spot as two adults furthest away from all that. But people, this is a wonderful place to eat and I hope that they Never EVER EVER go out because you are certainly an Icon of history and Northridge ! Your staff is real nice too. This is a memory time capsule for me and every time we decide to go there for dinner I get excited just like I used to when I was a kid. Yes, Shakey's Pizza Parlor is THAT awesome!!!
The place was packed when my family and I went. I'm assuming there was a fundraiser going on because the cashier asked if we were a part of the fundraiser. The food we ordered was nice and hot. No complaints about the food. The issue I had was the drink machine. The plastic area that the ice comes out of had what looked like mold/mildew on the side of it. Disgusting. I wish I had taken a picture however the place was so packed I rushed to eat because we had 4 young kids with us. I purchased cups for my kids but didn't allow them to get a drink from that machine. Someone can get very sick. All the tables that were available to sit at had dirty plates, napkins, used soft drink cups, and food scraps. The staff could have been overwhelmed because of the number of people so I understand that but the soda machine, beware! It's pretty gross.
Always delicious and pretty quick from ordering to table. Always, always, always have to order mojos and friend chicken with the pizza when you’re here, otherwise you’re missing out. Only reason it’s not a 5 star is because it’s usually super loud makes sense with lots of families here. Been eating at shaky’s since I was a kid and still love it
The pizza is okay. I liked the crust but the sauce is a bit sweet for me. However, the atmosphere is kitschy old school cool. In fact, it looked almost identical to one I used to go to in the early 70s!!!Food: 3/5
Restaurant went from great management to declining in every aspect of the restaurant business. Disappointed to say the least. My family and I sat in the game room area to a single table with no reserved sign displayed on it reserved tables surrounded us but no party ever showed up room had 2 employees eating at the reserved tables but no customers in sight and found trash and food crumbs under our table. I asked the cashier for someone to please sweep but no one ever showed up. Last but not least when needing to use the restroom with my 7 year old we we're surprised to find what once was a clean tidy restroom has now become a trash graffiti bin. For basic needs and cleanliness this restaurant should get 0 stars. A napkin was hard to find in a restaurant that serves pizza, wings, chicken etc. Pictures attached so hopefully Shakey's restaurants can help this location get back to what we are use to a ***** rating.
Best pizza, chicken, & mojo's. I grew up eating Shakey's. It is the best. One of the first places to stop when I visit California from Texas.Food: 5/5
