So good!!! This place was the first one to come up when looking up seafood restaurants in the area and I’m glad we just decided to come here. The menu was good size, creative and fun. We loved the shrimp fondue. In my opinion, this is MUST when visiting. The red fish and cream sauce was amazing and same with the fish tacos. The service was top notch and couldn’t have asked for anything better. They also know how to pour some great drinks.
This place is a great little spot to stop in and grab a bit. We went inside of several restaurants downtown, sat at the table and the got up and left. We stayed here at this one. Our waiter was extremely friendly and nice. Laid back and cool. The environment was chill. Bar vibe but for families. Fried pickles are one of my favorites. This location has fried pickles. Not as crispy as I like but they were still good. The burger tasted really good. We had the Cali burger. 4 orders of the same meal. I would have wanted the chili to have a little bit more flavor but the chili cheese fries are also a great choice. Ticket total was $123 and some change. Everyone also ordered a drink as well. I would definitely recommend stopping here if you can't decide. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because the cleanliness of the restrooms and when I returned to the table they were bringing out the food. When they sat my plate down, my bacon from my burger was hanging off the side of the plate touching the table.
My wife wanted to stop here for lunch on our anniversary trip to Galveston. Turned out to be a great decision. Like most Galveston Strand eateries, it's long and narrow. The Shark Shack was well lit. Great friendly staff and good food. We were there at the lunch hour, so it was full. Parking: We ended up parking at lot next to the train museum. After we had lunch, we found a few more closer lots but still $18. Good luck finding street parking.
That fondue was a meal all by itself with how amazing it is. Of course it's best when sharing with others so you can enjoy the fish platter options they have. Portions are huge for what you pay so it's worth it for the taste. Our waiter was really cool and everything looked well kept like the seating and ladies bathroom. I came from Houston to visit a festival and happy I took a chance with this place.
Nice little spot on "The Strand"... went about 3:30pm on a Saturday. Just walked right on in no wait. Food was food size portions for the price. Not very upscale but ok. Had the Red fish Tacos... one with Cole slaw and fries. The other with the vegetable and rice. Also had the New Orleans Jumbalia... and an order of the fried pickles... tacos were 17.50 jumbalia 19.50 and fried pickles 8. . Not sure what the drinks were...
I ordered Baja shrimp tacos platter with a side salad. The balsamic vinaigrette is super flavorful and salad really fresh. I saved the salad for the next day & it was still fresh. The shrimp tacos were fresh and delicious. I can’t eat rice but did taste a small amount. The rice was really good as well.Food: 5/5
Walked in looking for a nice hardy burger that has homemade tasting and some delicious seafood. Walked in the place and atmosphere is nice and pleasant. Went in for To go order and was helped immediately. They were nice and pleasant it was my first time and I order the Fish and Chips with fries. I ordered the Avacado burger and the Burger was delicious! It was packed and all the topping were fresh. The meat was well cooked and the buns complementary with the burger. This is a great place has outside seating that is great for family and kids to sit out and enjoy. It located around other restaurants and walking distance is good. I would try this place again.
Well after a quick Google search while in Galveston we ended up on the strand and at Shark Shack. We've been to many many restaurants oti but were looking to try something different. Nice area, on the corner, cute aesthetic with a giant shark and swordfish on the walls. We were sat quickly, ordered the shark bites and I loved them! Great dipping sauce yum I also ordered a watermelon margarita which I sent back. It not only looked sad, it tasted sadder. For my meal I ordered the redfish tacos with fries and poblano rice. Fries were good, rice was good, the fish was really overcooked and dry but combined with the Cole slaw on the tacos made it ok I guess. Our server was good and food came out fast.
Our waitress was very attentive and friendly! Her recommendation of the red fish taco was spot on! My boys loved the burger and chicken tenders. Generous portions.Food: 5/5
Went to this place on a google search random find. I am glad I found it. One of the best tasting burgers at a restaurant that I have had in a while. I hope my taste buds did not steer me wrong, but I believe the patty’s are made in house and then good for your enjoyment. My wife and oldest son split the seafood platter and had zero complaints. My youngest ordered the Big Kahuna hot dog. The name is not a play on words. That hot dog was huge. We also had the fried pickles which were so tasty and the queso and salsa. Service was kind and quick. We had our food out in like 30 minutes. Parking: You can either find parking on the strand or you can park a few blocks away and walk. It is a pleasant walk so enjoy the scenery.
