I used to work here this place is terrible. The front end mangers suck always had an attitude the way they treat the employees is terrible basically a 10 minute break. Your break wouldn’t even finish yet and your called downstairs. They would give us these longg shifts with a 15 min break.. then when it’s your time to leave someone sometimes wasn’t at the front end so you would have to wait. Steve the manger is very rude would talk to you like your nothing , I feel like your my manger I will respect you but you can’t talk to people anyway you feel like it.. haven’t worked here in months and it was the best decision I made.

The staff are really great and today I especially appreciated Owain's patience at tge service desk, I had brought too many grocery items for a busy day and he dealt with it very well.

Afternoon of Saturday, 9/16/17. Dismissive tone from a Manager will make me re-think about shopping at Shaw's Canton. Before I interact w/ him I noticed his sharp dismissive tone w/ a African American Gentleman, who was trying to get a price on item. Once the Gentleman walked away, the Manager and another store employee exchanged displeasing looks. I approached the two and I asked if they knew of another display within the store where I could find other favors of Skinny Popcorn. The manager directed me to the aisle that housed the popcorn. As I tried to explained that the favors I wanted were not there. He quickly interrupted me and said, "That's all we have Ma'am". Okay Ma'am, that all we have Okay Ma'am. Watching his interaction w/ the African-American Gentleman, his dismissive tone and the number of times he called me Ma'am left with unsettling feeling. Pausing on Shopping @ Shaw's.

We went in there yesterday to get a couple of items for our housewarming. We were followed and profiled in the produce section. So much so, that a manager had to page Rich over the intercom to come to the produce section in order to watch us. I was there to get ingredients for guacamole. When we got to the check out area, Nate was checking our items through the register. We noticed a manager of some sort was starting to bag our items and left as soon as I put my wallet on the register stand. He was then was relieved of that duty as another staff came to finish. We asked why they called over the intercom and why they followed us and followed us to the register. The replacement bagger, who I do not know his name, said there was a tomato spill. Even Nate was confused about why they had him handling a tomato spill, if there was one, and while turning red with embarrassment for his discriminatory behavior, he made a further excuse that the produce staff was on break and could not be there. Which would all make sense except for one thing. I put tomatoes in my guacamole and there were no tomato spills over in that tiny produce section. We both realized that this was a case of racism. The very first time we come here and this is how we are treated? We live in this town. If I have to drive to Market Basket from now on, I will. They always treat us with respect and dignity.I am very disappointed and I will be back to speak with someone directly.
