I have been going to Dr. Sheftel for more than 15 years and there is not a doctor I could speak more highly about! His medical expertise is second to none and his office demeanor really makes you feel like a special person. Both my mom and aunt see Dr. Sheftel regularly as well and I just want to mention the extraordinary care he provided to my mom a couple years ago. She had a spot on her scalp that initially came back negative, but Dr. Sheftel wasn't satisfied with the lab's analysis, so he took another sample that was retested and the result was positive. Dr. Sheftel then did the surgery to remove the cancerous cells and there hasn't been a reoccurrence since. Dr. Sheftel has gone above and beyond multiple times as it relates to my care and my family's and I would give him 6 stars if that was an option.

Had 3 areas cut off and tested for possible skin cancer 17 days ago. Have not received a call back with results, have called and left 2 messages, still no response. They must be to busy to handle patient load!

Terrible. I asked to see a physician...was given a nurse instead (although Sheftel Associates billed my insurance company for a doctor's services, and I also paid a co-pay. My knee is infected. Your nurse cut off a slice to see if it was cancerous on Feb. 2, 2016. I received a call about a week later that the biopsy showed no cancer. But I have a nasty, infected knee and when I called today to see a doctor I was told the only opening was for 11:10 a.m. (when I have an appt. with my primary care doctor at 11:30 so can't make it) and was told by a Stephanie there were no other openings!!!! I am contacting the medical board for dermatologists about the horrible care I've received, and am also contacting my Chase card services to have the co-pay I paid NOT kept by Sheftel Associates since you did me more harm than good. Am sure you were paid a lot by my Blue Cross/Blue Shield Insurance...

I'm 35 weeks pregnant and had to get a cancerous mole on my scalp removed. I obtained a referral from my OB/GYN to see Dr. Loren Zech. He knows my OB which was helpful to know (since my OB recommended I sign a release in order for him to get a copy of the report and be included on the treatment plan- which I fully supported and wanted). I got it removed and had an excision with disposable stitches. I would highly recommend Dr. Zech. He and Monique Gonzalez (one of the nurses) really took their time to explain the diagnosis and biopsy results, how he would do the excision, and to make the procedure as pregnancy-safe as possible. He called the next morning and followed up (I am thankfully making excellent progress), and will follow up in two weeks to assure that the results of the removal area are clean ( meaning that no further tissue needs to be removed), that the wound properly healed, or if any of the disposable stitches still need to be removed (since they should come out on their own in ten days). He gave me some gauze, bandage tape, and an ointment with instructions to care for the wound. I thought the office was a nice, friendly atmosphere, too. Keep in mind, though, that if you need to schedule a procedure (i.e. outpatient surgery, such as an excision), the front office representatives will transfer you to the nursing staff, and will tell you to leave a voicemail for the nurse assigned to your case, and you will have to patiently wait for them to call back to schedule your procedure.

I went to the Sahuarita location. As a first time patient, I advised them in advance I was concerned about the skin on my nose and a mole on my waist. When I left it dawned on my they checked on nothing else. As a redhead, I've been going to dermatologists since I was in my 30s. They've always checked my arms, neck, legs and torso. I mentioned this to several friends and they were also surprised. I went to their website to contact them. Even though it says you can contact them via email, I could find no email address. When you call, there is no option to ask a question of the Sahuarita location. So, I'm posting here. I did leave a voice mail and requested they send me their email address. No response.
