Story

Eight lane candlepin bowling alley and neighborhood bar. This bowling alley is the second oldest bowling alley in the country! Established in 1906. Celts, Sox, Pats, Bruins (not this year) games on TV. Great prices. Fun place for all!

Took a road trip to Shelburne Falls, MA yesterday from southern CT. Walking around, beautiful day, came across the Shelburne Falls Bowling Alley. Door locked Alley not open,so we started leaving, when a gentleman came out and asked if we wanted to take a look inside.WOW what a place, nice small bar area greets you then you walk into the bowling alley itself, I don't know what to say, this looks like it did many many years ago. Beautiful lanes (8) of them, with wood returns and wood with copper bowls for bowlers to place a damp sponge. Tarmeric (spelling ??) was gracious in giving us a history of both the building and Candlestick bowling. I was amazed to hear there has never been a 300 game bowled in Candlestick bowling, and even more amazed to hear an average of 150, you would be considered great.  Well just wanted to send my thanks to him in taking time to open up the Alley and give us the personalized tour with comments. WILL BE BACK to take on the Candlesticks and a few local craft beers that are served in the bar area of the Alley.
