This is an absolute DISGRACE of a health department. I understand that most government institutions aren't known for being efficient, and I understand that they are often understaffed and overworked. HOWEVER this location is neither. I called this location to get information about a birth certificate, I waited 15 minutes on hold before deciding to just drive the 30 minutes there. I was on hold for 45 minutes straight before someone answered and I was already pulling in the parking lot. When I pulled up there were no cars in the parking lot and the front door was locked. They had to unlock the door for me and there were not one, not two, but THREE workers and a security guard. And not a soul in the waiting room. They didn't have the common courtesy to answer the phone, let alone be courteous or helpful when I walked in the door. They were rude from the moment I arrived, just to hand me a slip of paper on where I ought to go to get the birth certificate. All simple information I could have been given over the phone in a few short moments and could have saved me a lot of time and a lot of gas. This location shouldn't even exist and the people it employs don't deserve the title of "service worker" because they neither work, nor provide service.
Call center never answers the phone so I can make an appointment to renew my wic benefits. My baby girl needs formula. This is stressful for us mothers who have no income. Something has to change about this.
I had a 8:30 apt, and the the staff from the security guard to the ladies at the front desk to the doctor/nurse was all excellent. I like the appointment method because you're seen with no problems and its not crowded. I remember going to the Health Department as a child with having to wait all day to be seen. I much rather prefer the appointment method. Thank you staff at the Millington location for being so wonderful to me and my son.
Extremely rude staff, unhelpful. Went to get transcript of immunizations for school, was told I needed an appointment even though though the Shelby county health department said it was walk-in and no appointment was necessary. They did take the immunization record but acted as if they were doing me a big favor. Quoted covid precautions the whole time, why don't you take care of these immunizations via secure e-mail if so worried ? Believe me I don't wanna go to a government office for administrative stuff, please join the 21st century and stop wasting your time and mine. They close at 3:30 but you have to be there by 3:00. Wish I finished so early! I'm a government employee, wish I had it as easy as them. Also told my 2 year had to have a face mask, really try putting and keeping a face mask on a 2 year old. too sum it up; rude and unhelpful staff out of touch with today's world, hope I never have to return. Worst public service in the state of Tennessee
Hands down one of the worst experiences EVER! The ladies in the front area had no sense of urgency and just didn’t want to help. I was there getting my nephew shots, due to his PCP being scheduled out. Not only did these front desk ladies have an attitude. They let us fill out all the paperwork to tell us the nurse was behind. If you don’t mind being treated poorly, pay them a visit.
The only reason I'm okay with having to give them one star, rather than zero, is due to how sweet and considerate the ladies in the back are. The women up front are RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, and COMPLETELY INSENSITIVE. Seriously, you deal with expecting mother's and newborns/infants/toddlers. Do better. ‍ I DO NOT RECCOMEND, take your family elsewhere, people.
The front desk ladies are always rude and don’t EVER offer any help until you’ve been there for a good 4 hours. Even when you try to call the office it takes almost 45 min on hold!
If you could give 0 stars I would. Had me sitting there for four freaking hours just to do a job that took ten minutes
