The wait to get inside was long ... which is not surprising for this place since they are always packed but it is well worth the wait. The noodles are delicious and soup are delicious. It's make your own bowl here. You can decide how soft you like your noodles and thickness of your soup all the way to what tp put in there. I recommend the ingredients to be: corn, meat, dumplings, and egg. You can also add more noodles for cheap if you're feeling still a bit hungry and have some soup left over.

I have eaten at this location maybe 15-20 times over the last 5 years, and quality has never suffered. It has always been excellent. This shinsengumi is extremely popular, so be prepared to have to wait. Once inside service will be quick and accurate. I always get the crab croquettes in addition to my Ramen, and they are most excellent. The best croquettes I have found in the states thus far!

I've been coming here for about 3 years. Get there 2 hours in advance and if you are any taller than 5'1" ask for a table because the bar is anchovied you can barely lift your arm without bumping someone else. Don't order Appetizers they're microscopic for the price they charge. Tip or expect to get chased into the parking lot. And told a story about how "a bunch Mexicans came in and didn't tip." Seriously, one of them did that. Bring cash because they don't split more than 2 ways. It's not that they can't its that they don't want to. If you complain enough they'll do it but you really need to make a scene. If the Ramen wasn't so fantastic, I would never go here again 4/5 would dine again.

If we are to judge Shin-Sen-Gumo Ramen's food alone, 4 stars would be a pretty solid, objective rating. However, it's the 2-hour wait time that kills the experience. The noodles are not hand-made and certainly not out-of-this-world, the soup is good because it's mixed with the pork broth in which the pork belly was cooked in, service was good with plenty of drink re-fills, price is okay, the structure is too small, and the portions are a bit too small for what you pay. Advice to owner: limit the time large groups can stay during peak hours. You will turn more tables and have happier customers.
