Takes you back and makes you feel at home. Staff is super friendly. The food is great. It’s the kind of place you wish all other restaurants were more like. They are now open for dinner. Highly recommend visiting.

Stopped while traveling through Lake City. My husband ordered the Large Patty Melt with tater tots, and made the mistake of offering our eldest son and me a bite of his sandwich.. He was lucky to have gotten anything back --- Yes, it was THAT good!! Our eldest ordered chicken tenders, which were tasty, but nothing original. I ordered the 4 Vegetable Plate, and chose collard greens, cheese grits, rice & gravy, and sweet potato suffle... but then, I noticed plate after plate of shrimp flying out of the kitchen... so I asked our waitress for an order of shrimp to be added to our bill, and I'm SO glad I did. The portions were large, for which I am thankful, especially after my husband took my shrimp out in trade for the rather large bite I took of his patty melt. Our youngest son was going through the tater tots hand over fist, and washing them down with spoonfuls of Sweet Potato and grits, while our eldest smuggled the roll from my plate. The only thing BETTER than the food, was the SERVICE!! Before we left the table, with our bellies full and happy, we were already planning our next trip back.

A real hidden gem in the old part of town. Always fast service and down-home cooking. Fantastic prices.

Real home cooking. The fried pork chops are fantastic. A must stop for great food.

Shirley's is the best "down home" cooking restaurant in Lake City. They deliver during certain hours also. I recommend Shirley's to anyone who wants a filling meal at an affordable price.
