Overall great Chinese food! Tangerine chicken is a strong option, as is the Sweet and Sour. Skip the chow mien, unfortunately. Loved the crab cakes! Try to go on a weekday though, or make sure you make a reservation — long weekend wait times.Recommended dishesTangerine Chicken
Everything was great. The service, the food. The "chips and salsa" sweet and sour sauce with puffy crispy squares is something i don't typically see at Chinese restaurants and a nice touch. I enjoyed the hot and sour soup. The eggplant dish was very tasty. The portions were perfect for lunch. I'll definitely be back.
$15 for what looks like a lame lunch portion Black Pepper Beef. This was the dinner portion of meat… I put every piece of meat from the griddle to the plate when it came out to see how unbalanced the meal was. Green peppers and onions made up most of the plate. I was so disappointed I am leaving a review, which I have done only once for any restaurant I’ve been to. Waitress gave me my food and never returned to check in until I asked for my check. I actually remember going here for take out on New Years a couple of years ago. My family of four was still hungry after 4 entrees and an appetizer. I gave them the benefit of the doubt for it being a holiday but I will never return after this visit. Money vs. service- not impressed.
Very frustrated with my experience at Shoots. Have been to the restaurant 3 times now. Really enjoy the food and appreciate the gluten free options. We've ordered takeaway once before, and were disappointed with the portions as they were significantly smaller than the in person portions even with the same price entrees. Was at the Riverwoods today and decided to give their takeaway another try. The restaurant was mostly empty so I made a point to order an extra and extra expensive dish to try to help a local business. When the order came out, checked the boxes to make sure everything was there and commented to the waitress that the "side of broccoli" with the firecracker chicken looked like literally one piece of broccoli that had been cut into 3 pieces to look like more. She tried to explain away that it was supposed to just be garnish when the menu says specifically the dish comes with a side of broccoli. Then double checked that the rice was for the 2 dishes we'd ordered that were supposed to come with rice and she said yes even though the portion looked barely enough for 2 people. So I asked for extra lettuce thinking that my more expensive order and generous tip would be sufficient to be able to spare some extra iceberg lettuce and she checked with the kitchen and then told me I'd have to pay extra if I wanted any. Good thing I didn't get any extra lettuce anyway because the portions for the $10 chicken lettuce wraps were only enough for about 3 wraps. It seems absurd that a $50 meal made of 3 entrees would not be enough portion wise to feed 2 average adults and one 2 year old. If you're wondering, the $18 honey walnut shrimp is no exemption to the tiny portions. Good food, would love to see this local business thrive and also treat their customers better, with a more generous mindset. Probably will not be coming back.
Absolutely the best chinese restaurant in town! Mongolian beef must try, finished with the chocolate moon cake was heaven!
We love Shoots. The food is fresh and delicious. They are rarely over crowded. I hesitate saying that because I like it that way, but also would love for them to stay in business eating in is best because you get free wonton and sweet and sour sauce. So good. The egg drop soup is great and we live the pan fry noodle dish
First time going. I have a regular place down in Provo that I love and so I was hesitant about trying a new Chinese place but Shoots did not disappoint. The price is what you’d expect out of a restaurant in this location. We got the shrimp tempura appetizer Japanese I know but it was pretty good and it comes with various fried vegetables as well. I got the Black Pepper Steak dish that came out on a skillet. The flavor was fantastic. My wife got the Fried Tofu dish and the tofu was cooked wonderfully. We ended up getting the special tempura cheesecake for dessert and it was fantastic. Honestly I’d go back for only dessert that is how good it was. All in all I was impressed and will more than likely be back.
I absolutely loved this place! I haven't had this good of Chinese food in a long time! For me it's about the quality of the food and this place delivers. If you are looking for a great atmosphere and delicious food, I would highly recommend.
I have had it twice, both times were excellent. Fast take out, fresh, friendly, and good quality. I want to try one of everything now! Great Lunch Special options
Higher end Chinese food with influences from other asian cuisines. High quality food for a decent price. I really enjoyed the asparagus and scallop dish.
