Probably the best beach hotel we've ever visited.  Staff was friendly and made us feel like they were happy we came there.  Beach access was amazing and so were the multiple pools.  Housekeeping kept the room clean and were happy to help if you caught them making their rounds.  All around great stay.

We stayed in an efficiency and loved being able to make our own schedule for meals.  No rushing to get to a restaurant.   Very nice beach.   Helpful and friendly staff.  Good variety for breakfasts here.  Will definitely consider staying here again!

Stayed two nights. Typical motel atmosphere. The Good - free breakfast, remodeled clean rooms, 50 ft from beach, lots of parking, elevator, and directly across from Kill Devils Hill. The Bad - They have shutters (haha) on the bedroom windows so they do not fully close which means a blast of light in the morning. Our first night entailed sitting in our 80 degree room watching a maintenance man try and fully replace our a/c unit for over an hour at 8pm. Not fun. We finally had to demand a new room and were put on a lower floor. Nothing for our troubles. Not a good start. The next morning we get a loud knock on the door. Housekeeping couldn't read the Do Not Disturb sign. On and on and on..........may or may not stay again.

First visit to the OBX. Loved Shutters On The Banks. Stayed in a room with Dune View, great location to the beach, literally outside our hotel room and 100 feet to the beach. Staff was great and very helpful. Parking lot was great, plenty of spaces. All we wanted was to rest and go to the beach and we did plenty of that and enjoyed ourselves! Will return.

I stayed in the attractive remodel building with my girlfriend. The hotel room bed, furniture, fittings, TV and refrigerator are new, clean, very neat, and spacious bathroom. In addition, the location of the room balcony is directly overlooking the dunes and beach. Although it was chilly when we visited, I was able to view the beach from my hotel room and catch the full view of beautiful Sun set and Sun rise reflecting on the Ocean. In addition to watching school of Dolphins in the morning. The front desk staffs are excellent and friendly. The breakfast is decent. The Pool and Jacuzzi is clean and well maintained. I will definitely repeat my stay at Shutters. I highly recommend
