Stayed on The Ridge campsite in order to take advantage of the solitude away from main sites. Looking forward to some peace and quiet. Then a person stopped near our campsite and started running some kind of mega weed eater through the trails from late afternoon until early evening. This went on for hours, including running a leaf blower. Believe me, these things weren't your run of the mill suburban weed eater, they were LOUD. Not only that, at about 8:15pm he came right through our camp site. We couldn't even relax with all the noise, it was like living next to a busy road. So much for a quiet getaway. Ruined.

Quiet and chill. Office may be hard to find, just keep going you'll find it & prob not open but it has a lock box for CASH deposits. Long term rates as well. Reasonable. I camped on bottom section of the 3 part campsite. You have a choice, when avail, of what scenery you can camp in. Wood, valley/stream or something else I can't remember, maybe a small bluff or peak? Flood lights by office site can ruin star gazing but the sound of the creek all night is a nice change from the usual city bustle. Ppl generally kept to themselves but curtious and generous when approached or approached upon. Showers are nice, recently redone I imagine bc of severe flooding in the area over the last couple years. It's a good place to have a shindig for or just to get away and get lost for awhile.

If you want to get away from it all, stay at the Ridge campground. I've been coming here for years to go fly fishing in the area. Friendly hosts and lots of things to do make camping here like camping in a state park.

Guy running mad max weed eaters (from 5 until 8:15) really messed up my relaxing time away from the city. I came here to get away from that stuff.

I really like this park. Good hiking and fishing. Lovely place.
