Sihana Café
"The name Sihana derives from an ancient language meaning “like the moon” in the literal sense and “celestial/heavenly or ideal state” in the metaphorical. Driven by our name, we set out to create an oasis where guests can enjoy healthy food first and foremost but also be inspired by the creativity that went into developing our concept. It harbors art from prominent local artists and its walls are a witness to more than a century of life of diverse communities in Newark. The aesthetic isa grandiose gesture to the preservation of the building whilst adding layer of colors, shapes, and different materials to the overall concept."

A very pretty cafe in the neighborhood. Menu is relatively small, but good enough brunch options. They also sell bakery items like brownie and cupcakes. Lots of good hot drinks available. The brunch dishes we tried were made excellent. Fresh eggs, salads and well made pancakes. They are pet friendly restaurant.
I had this place on my list for a minute, but so glad I finally went. If you are looking for a chill spot to grab delicious bites and drinks. The vibe is cafe, book store yes you can buy the books, artist loft with plants, literally all my favorite things. The food was great and our iced chai lattes were delicious and the dessert were great too. I will definitely be going back on a regular, because there are several things on the menu I want to try.
The most delicious salad I have had so far! The coffee is really good and the place is adorable. Staff is very kind. A prefect place to work in the computer and relax. Music and environment are very comfortable. The bathroom super clean and chic. One of the best places in Newark.
Came to this café for the first time for lunch & enjoyed everything about it from the ambiance to the staff and the food which was very fresh and tasty. I had the salmon hot bowl, mint tea & fruit covered cheesecake dessert. Their dessert was also delicious. I love art so the decor was a sight for sore eyes. Vinyls, books, wall art and all the other details made it a very comfortable space to enjoy my meal in. I would definitely refer this nice place…
Sunday brunch with friends couldn't have been any better. Aesthetically pleasing ambiance with a friendly customer service. One of the BEST latte's we have all had in a very long time. One of the friend drumroll for Diljit Dosanjh's lead drummer from India liked the latte so much that he made sure to visit the cafe again on Monday before leaving for his next gig in VA. In frame: Beverages: Hazelnut latte with almond milk, Hazelnut latte with oat milk, and cortado in vanilla flavor. Food: Avocado toast with poached eggs and another without the eggs, cheese flatbread and pancakes. Everything was 10/10. Pancakes were not on the menu but they said they could do it. Thank you, Sihana cafe. You're a gem!
Was looking for cafes offering food and coffee while visiting Newark and found this place. Parking can be a challenge but once that is taken care of you get to enjoy this lovely cafe. Ideal for a smaller group but they do have one big table that can seat 6-8 guests. I love that it looks homey with all the plant decor and warm tones. Ordering is also convenient - using your phone they have a QR code to scan where you order and pay online. We tried their matcha latte and regular latte and both were good. Matcha isnt sweetened though just fyi. The latte was nicely done and both drinks had such cute latte arts. Always a bonus! For food, hubster got the smoked salmon and the egg was done perfectly. For me I got the bacon mushroom omelette. It was almost “well-done” and although still good, i think i prefer it a little fluffier. It came with a side of potatoes, salad and toast. Overall we loved the place. It was warm and cozy and if you prefer a more “quieter” spot, they actually have more space if you pass by the counter and there are many books to choose from on that side. Oh and I love the gender neutral restrooms as well. This cafe is quite well thought of!
Good coffee and atmosphere. I usually order the galão or latte $3.95 or the cortado $3.25, which are both a bit bigger than the usual cortado. Love the coffee art and the big round mugs. The coffee shop is pretty and has many small tables, wifi is a bit spotty sometimes, but mostly eboguh for some light work. They have fresh bakery items everyday such as cookies $2.05, I believe they get them from elsewhere, but have a banana chocolate muffin $4.25 made in-house. There are some pretty cakes on display $7. They have a lot of food options as well, from omelettes and bacon egg sandwiches to more elaborate and unique dishes like salmon poached eggs or shakshuka. The cafe is usually full of brunch people on weekends, as there aren't that many places around the ironbound for it.
Wonderful coffee shop with warm welcomes from the workers and managent. Perfect atmosphere and a good amount of seating inside. Latte: The latte was good, strong aroma and has a good balance of them coffee beans and milk, when done. The service was great and the young man did a great job tending to us. Will come back again to get some actual food sometime!
Amazing vibes, amazing service, great space. I went to have lunch and read a bit. Enjoyed my time. Will continue to visit. Awesome bowl with a peanut sauce that’s great. The flavors in that bowl was amazing.
Great vibe here - interesting layout modeled after a home, tall ceilings and lots of light, and an extensive bookshelf + art, funky architectural details and random knick knacks add a home-y ambiance. The food is great - yummy and looks cute with good portions as well as some Georgian the country not the state staples as the owner is from there. Chai latte was yummy and not too sweet. The owner was so nice btw - I came here for a bachelorette brunch and we got into a guessing game with the owner to see if we could place the owner’s accent - if we did, he would give us dessert on the house! He was so friendly and patient with us, and even though we failed embarrassingly, he gave us free dessert anyway. So, clearly good food, good people, good vibe - really glad we found this spot.
