This bar is an institution in New Rochelle. Its owner and operator Silkie does a great job cultivating a fun environment for all patrons. The drinks especially Silkie’s signature rumba are phenomenal, and the snack baskets are delicious. There are a pool table, and dart board. The bathrooms are decorated… interestingly. In October 2022 Larry Sharpe met some supporters here during a stop on his campaign for NY Governor.
2:00am! We had the worst travel day ever. Came here for a night cap and we LOVED it! Silkie is quirky and has stories and makes everything herself! We got amazing drinks, food, and a great time! Plus Sabrina the dog is absolutely fab!
This is largely in argument with some recent negative reviews, this is largely because they make accusations of fake alcohol and whatnot. From stories of the incidents the individuals who made the review where rather heavy set or overweight, and as many will tell you such individuals require more alcohol in order to have a good time. From personal experience I can say that 2 of her specialty “rumbas” get me where I need to be I’m 200 pounds for context, I enjoy the vibes and the drinks, so please disregard this slander and get a damn rumba and ignore this clear anti-silky slander.
Most trash bar I’ve ever been to. Horrible customer service, the owner is a super rude grandma who wants people to purchase her garbage 15 dollar “rumba” drinks that aren’t even worth the hype. She takes random pictures of people to post on her IG in an attempt to make it seem like her bar is packed when it’s actually empty. Don’t waste your time here, way better bars in the area!
The owner is a rude elderly women. All she does is complain about how folks don’t tip. Uh, maybe it’s because of your rudeness? I gave it a two because it’s a nice spot for introverts like me and the fried wings were decent.
The only reason it gets 1 star is because there is free pool to be played. Other than that, find another bar to go to. Her"rumba" punches which she claims "no one can drink more than 2 because they're so strong", are nothing but over priced, soft poured overly sugary drinks. The reason you can drink more than two is because they're 14 dollars each and your stomach turns from the diabetes in each glass. But if 14 dollar sugar water isn't enough to get you to run for the door, look a little deepernot too hard honestly and you will find the other workers are the bar. And no its not other employees. The roaches that crawl on the bar is the nail that solidifies never coming back. Go to specs, backyard, go home if anything and save yourself.
Omg!! So we walked into SILKIES’s after a movie night .. sometimes around midnight!!! And we were blown away!! Silkie is the best hostess. I have been hundred of bars. This is amazing environment. The billiards table is amazing, Silkie even has customised cues. The music is great. I honestly, have to give in trying to use words to describe how great of time we are having. SILKIE YOU ARE THE BEST!! We love you. Hope to see you back this weekend!!
One of the most recommended places to visit if you are ever in New York , New Rochelle Area . Great food .Great fun. And the most out going customers You will ever meet. The host silkie is Friendly Out going and really made me feel like I had been coming to this place for years . Even though it was my fist time.!! And she is Beautiful to boot.. I will most definitely be coming back here the next time I get a chance to pass through again. . Thank you SILKIE'S SALOON.

Even though it may be small and a dive bar, it has character. A good place to take someone after hours and have a personal conversation.
