Beautiful, sand dunes amazing, something for everyone, lots of boating opportunities as well.
Lots of good shopping, restaurants, putt putt golf with waterfalls, motorized inner tube rides, Jelly Stone Park/Campground right there ( Yogi Bear)..Little Sable Light House/Park down the st. , lots of beach area, swim in lake but very cold.. I love the upper state of Michigan

Camped for 5 days at Sandy shores campground, which was a very nice campground. The dunes were a blast, rented a jeep and also went on Mac woods ride, both a good time. All the state park areas were very nice new and we'll maintained. Lots of things to do without the big tourist destination feel. Will definitely be going back next year.

Amazing place! Hard to find somewhere you can have that much fun with the family. Kids love the sand and the water. No better place to run around in the Jeep.

Really nice park and we had zero problems with dnr or anyone else. The camp site is somewhere between rustic and an RV park. Clean bathrooms and showers. Showers maintain hot water through the morning rush. I much more prefer rustic camping but having young kids, this is a happy medium for all.

Rangers are very selective and inconsistent on who they tell to, "keep it down" after 10pm.  Our neighbors up late, talking, having fun, and enjoying the night, two nights in a row and no rangers approach them.  The four in our group talking by the fire 1030 at night and some fat head ranger tells us were too loud. WTH? Let's not address the the dune buggies and trucks with no mufflers rattling your camper all day and night.   If you can't talk by the fire after taking time off work and spending your hard earned money on a vacation, don't come here!
