Absolutely disgusting.., don't go here!!! I sat and watched a waitress last night put all these little chocolate macaroons on a plate, no gloves, even licking her fingers and then had the nerve to place them at out table!! Of course not one of us are them, and I know the manager heard me loudly say, don't eat those she didn't use gloves! Now, if she does that in front of customers, imagine what they do behind closed doors... My stomach is turned.. I should have asked for a refund..... If I could give a -10 as a review I would...

Very good food and personal service. The clam chowder and homemade pickles were delicious

we just ate there for the last time. I have always told everyone they had to try both restaurants and I understand closing The Scrimshaw, we only ate there for special occasions because of the price but love Simpsons for those nights I didn't feel like cooking. But someone there had the brilliant idea that since the expensive fine dining restaurant wasn't making it to up all the food in the other restaurant so we can't afford to eat there unless it was a special occasion. I will say the food is decent if your rich and for some reason they bring your desert to you before you even order but don't expect the best service. There were only 5 other tables in the restaurant and we waited forever for our food, the only good part about our experience there was our server, Christy! If you do dine here you definitely need to ask for her, not sure if the other servers even know how to smile.

We celebrated with Easter dinner at the Simpsons's this year. I usually cook on holidays so I searched the internet for the "go to" place to do Easter. Each search turned up with Simpsons's. Their brunch was sold out so dinner couldn't be bad, right? We were seated quickly (We had reservations). The atmosphere was a bit dated. The free standing table we were seated at reassembled an old wooden table someone picked up at a yard sale and had no table cloth. After about ten minutes a man brought bread then our waitress took our drink order. My daughter never received her drink and we had to hunt someone down for refills. Three of us ordered the holiday specials while the other two ordered from the regular menu. Our starters came out about half an hour later and out entrees a full hour after that. That brings us, time wise, to eating dinner at 8 o clock for 6:15pm reservations. The food was nothing special. Apparently they don't have streak knives, as my husband asked and was given a butter knife. Our bill was $194 for two adult holiday meals (4 course), one kids holiday meal (3 course), two entrees, one extra soup, and one side salad. We figured it would be as much and don't mind paying this much when we dine out but this experience was definitely not worth it. Such a shame as the Desmond is so lovely.

mediocre at best. the Caesar salad dressing seemed like it was made with mayo, the roasted vegie salad , the eggplant was not cooked, and could not be chewed, I would not recommend this to anyone. the staff was fine.
