The good: 

Work was done in a timely manner. They stayed within budget, even after having to buy extra supplies. Sharon was very knowledgeable about roofing and patiently explained things. The team was friendly. They used quality materials. They threw in an extra piece of gutter for free after a misunderstanding. The roof looks beautiful from the outside. The roof itself FROM THE OUTSIDE was well-done. Quality work in that regard.

The bad:

The crew left many nails, pieces of roofing and general trash around the house. We mentioned the nails to Sharon TWICE before the job was done and he said he would have his crew pick them up. They did not. (A simple tarp put down in front of the house would have solved this problem before it started...) We even asked him to bring his magnet so that we could pick the nails up ourselves without painstakingly searching for them. He said he would bring it. He did not.

The ugly:

They put vented soffit OVER boards in places. So the vented soffit is useless in these spots. They DID replace lots of rotted boards (we told him there were many rotten areas, he included this-up to a point-in the budget) BUT they not only left some rotten boards (it appears as if they started out replacing all rotten boards, then got lazy/in a hurry/overwhelmed and started skimping) but they also failed to tell us that the WHOLE EDGES of our support beams were rotten. As in, if the roof support beams are shaped in a triangle, our bottom triangle corners were completely rotted out and they just put a roof on this rotten mess without even so much as notifying us. We complained about it when we found out and their reply was that it was not in their budget to fix. We feel that we should have been informed of the fact that our support beams were structurally unstable before they just slapped a new roof on them. For the record, I would have happily paid extra to have the job "DONE RIGHT THE FIRST TIME" as they claim they do. 

In closing, I must say that I am disappointed to give a mixed review for this company, as they did many things right and had a great knowledge of roofing. 

We have contacted the company and they just state that they stayed within budget and used great materials. True. But I would rather have paid more and had the job done right, instead of facing huge headaches after the team was gone.

Fantastic work and excellent customer service! I could not have asked for a better roofing job. From start to finish, Mr. Sinay wanted to make sure I was satisfied -- from shingle color to timeline. Keeping my needs in mind, he "fast tracked" my job when he had an opening and was able to complete the job quickly. I contacted him one day, and the next day the job was done! He took advantage of a small window of good weather; otherwise, I would have had to wait until May to get my roof replaced. (He's that busy, and that also speaks of his reputation!) The morning of the roofing, he brought enough shingles of the two colors to make sure I was happy with my choice. (I ended up going with his recommendation!) I am extremely pleased how the shingles look and how they complement the rest of the house's trim and brick. I would recommend Sharon Sinay's company for a roofing job without hesitation!
