Beautiful in August! Blooming flowers everywhere! And if you are fire/police. Show your badge and get in for free. Thank you for a wonderful family outing!

Amazing how quiet and peaceful it is here, even though it's so close to the city. And easily accessible by bike! Ride though on your way to the Botanic Gardens.

Kayaking the lagoon system is fun. The rental business is seasonal and you can check if they're operating online. You can rent one or two person kayaks, as well as canoes. You can drive, bike or hike to the lagoons from the surrounding suburbs.

A great place for outdoor recreation only 15 minutes from Chicago's north side. Accessible by bike from Chicago, only 16 miles from the beginning of the bike trail at Gompers Park in Chicago. Kayaks and Canoes for rent. Good place for fishing!
