Slight Edge Hair Salon is located in the heart of SouthO community in Oceanside, California. We specialize in premier cuts and color from classic to trendy for men, women, and children. In addition to being a premier color establishment, we also offer Brazilian Blowouts, Keratin Smoothing Treatments, Permanent Wave, Special Occasion Styling and Hair Extensions. Being relatively new to the area I needed a hairstylist. When I attended Slight Edge's Grand Opening I met Hannah Smith and made an appointment with her a few weeks later. She is amazing!! She takes the time to make sure your hair is perfect and gorgeous. She listens to what you want and makes sure she understands before doing anything. The owners are super friendly and in the salon helping the stylists how they can. I have and will continue to recommend Slight Edge and Hannah Smith to anyone who asks.

I also had a less than stellar experience here. I don't want to publicly name the stylist, however I wanted to warn other people who were like me and purchased a Groupon and are visiting this salon without any previous experience here. I arrived on time to my appointment, and i receive a phone call from the stylist telling me he was still with the previous client and I should come back in an hour. I left work early to get to my appointment on time, so of course I was annoyed. So I come back in an hour, and still have to wait 30 minutes for him to finish up with the previous girl (her appointment was 5 hours before mine, by the way). From start to finish, my entire visit took 6 hours! 6 HOURS! for a cut and single color. The nightly cleaning crew came and went while I was still getting color applied to my hair. I completely missed an important dinner, which I kept telling him about during the visit. Dinner was at 8:30, my appointment was at 3:30.... that seems kind of strange. The stylist was also quite rude to the cleaning crew, fighting with the lady and her son about how to clean around chairs and mirrors. Right in front of me! I was so happy to get the heck out of there, at 9:30 pm..... In his defense, the hair color turned out great. The haircut did not, and he did exactly what I told him not to do. So now I will pay to get this botched hair cut fixed somewhere else. Oh, and the kicker - he ruined my shirt by getting hair dye on it, so he was nice enough to take $10 off the EXTRA $25 he was charging me for "extra dye"! Charging me extra after this terrible experience! I couldn't believe it.

I rate this place a 1 star, ONLY because I can't put zero stars to leave a review. I highly recommend you stay away from this place. I had the worst experience ever and instead of the owner or manager trying to make me feel better about my horrible "updo" she told the stylist to charge me $25! which looked like a rats nest and another salon had to fix for them. So I ended up paying even more for something that I could of simply avoided if I would of known how horrible this place and their customer service is. Got zero results for the 2 hours I sat on that chair. What a waste of time! Please stay away.
