Being from Santa Clarita we don't see much smaller town life let alone a local candy shop. The closest we get is the candy place in the mall...... really neat shop in the middle of downtown Paso. Right across from the town park. The candy selection is ok but the ice cream was really good. Also crossing the street and walking through the park with your cone is the best. My only criticism is the candy prices seem really high but maybe that's the market today. I really enjoyed the experience with my kids and they loved it.
Visited 20 July 2022 After dinner we took a walk around the park area and ended up inside of SLO Sweets. If nothing else, the store is very nostalgic. There are an assortment of sweets and drinks from my childhood I'm an 80s baby. We browsed the store but I didn't find anything that popped out to me that I'd buy. Some of my friends did buy sodas and Gelato but I didn't purchase anything. The waffle cones had some interesting flavours - orange Creamsicle, red velvet, & midnight vanilla, along with pumpkin spice, and regular. However, for the price $10 cone w/ 1 scoop, meh. I initially wanted a gelato cone. I tried the stracciatella Gelato but did not like it. It wasn't terrible but it has a too salty taste. The price did not appease me and the taste certainly turned me off from wanting to try anything else. The store is enticing but overall doesn't seem to be worth it.
expensive, rude, bad customer service, overpriced candy and ice cream taste aweful
So we went to this fun looking place last night and I have to say that while they have a great selection and I don’t even mind paying the crazy high prices, the girl serving the ice cream was extremely rude. I asked if my daughter could get a single scoop rather than double and she said “you can only get a single in a cone”. So we got the cone. When i told her she could’ve mentioned that this costs more than a double, she didn’t apologize and said “the prices are on that list on the counter”. It was $10 for a single scoop I’m a cone or $8 for a double in a cup. Wish I had asked her name. Paola, who I believe was at the register her name is on my receipt was ok -neither positive or negative. I’d expect a bit of kindness at a place that’s designed to bring happiness to kids and the adults willing to pay $30 a pound for candy.
A fun place to stop by and take pictures at/in front of if you're in town visiting, but the bad service, expired candy, and outrageous prices make it impossible to recommend you spend your money here.
#RAWFotografia #LocalGuide #DippinDots Paso has Dippin' Dots!!! They still play Willy Wonka and the chocolate Factory all the time, and they have added a few treats like gift buckets/jars you can fill with bulk candy, and strange cotton candies!
Pretty cool I mean I liked the old location that is like 2 doors down better because it's what I grew up with but in reality it's a candy store. They have a great selection of candy and soda and gelato and my favorite candy store I've ever gone to!StierFied
How insanely ridiculously expensive is this place? $30 a pound for self serve candy jelly beans, gummy,, etc Candy stores in Cayucos and Beverly Hills are like $6 or $7 and this place on Paso Robles want $30!?!? When she said $12.50 for 2 small prepackaged bags I laughed and walked out. Ridiculous!
Outrageously high priced candy, especially in the self serve section. The pictured candy cost $36.. for about 16 ounces.. couldn't believe it.
Great selection of candy especially candy from days of yore however I purchased what amounted to about 2/3 cup of Good N Plenty for a whopping $11.70! Ridiculous! To add insult to injury, it was stale. I about broke my jaw trying to chew it. Not happy. Will not be returning.
