Our experience at Slows in Pontiac was incredible. My husband and I were celebrating our first night out after having a baby, and from the moment we walked in it was like the staff wanted to celebrate with us! They made us feel like family right away. Teddy our server was AMAZING. He really gets it that sometimes a server can make or break your dining exoerience, and he made it THE. BEST. He was SO attentive and incredibly informative about everything on the menu. He even told us when he thought we'd ordered too much to make sure we saved money and knew what we were getting ourselves into --- and he was right, I didn't need that side of mac and cheese! The appetizer came out a bit cold and he was SO quick to take it away and bring us a fresh one, and the manager immediately took it off our bill. The food was incredible, but it really was the atmosphere and friendliness of all the staff that made it such a fun experience. We decided this is our new go-to spot. We can't wait to go back! If the management is reading this, do not let Teddy go. He is a HUGE asset to your staff, and honestly he's the most knowledgeable server I've ever had in any restaurant. He clearly loves Slows and is excited to share it with everyone! Anyone else reading this, if you go to Slows in Pontiac, request Teddy!! Especially if it's your first time there --- you won't regret it!

My co-workers and I went there for lunch on a Wednesday. The service was fast and friendly and the food was amazing as expected. I love the aesthetic of the restaurant as well. Prior to this visit, I had only ordered takeout which was a great experience as well. I had called around 1:00 to see when I should place my order for pickup around 6:30 and they took my order right then and there for a later pick-up. Everything is so customer-focused and I really, really appreciate it. Great job, guys!

I really really hope the manager/owner reads this review. I really enjoyed my experience at Slows but the one thing I can't wrap my head around is the fact that they do not do over the phone orders. Working in downtown Pontiac I would totally love to place carry-outs for lunch and so would many of my co workers! If you want a carry out you have to sit at the bar and wait, which makes absolutely so sense to me. I really enjoyed the reason and their brisket enchilada and ask for Jeffrey as a waiter, he was really good. Other than that, I really hope that can figure out carry out orders sometime soon, their missing a huge opportunity to cater to all the employees in downtown Pontiac.

Ordered the carryout. Ordered 3 of "The Reasons" and the BBQ wings. Wings were wonderful, but their "stack of our famous wings" is four. "The Reasons" were supposed to be "bathed" in NC BBQ sauce, but had no sauce on it. Called Slows and they asked me to come back and get some. It's only four blocks away, so I did. Not only did they give me plenty of the NC BBQ Sauce, but they also gave me plenty of their Texas style BBQ sauce. The pulled pork was the best I've ever had. Beware of the NC BBQ Sauce, it is great, but it is spicy.

Visited at 9:30pm on a Friday night. The servers were very attentive and personable (James the Dragon), and the food was great. We had pork ribs, and apple smoked chicken, a spinach/bacon salad, Mac n cheese, beans and a coleslaw. It was all good. The ribs are served dry smoked (no sauce, which is proper BBQ) so you can taste the meat and experiment with the five different sauces ranging from sweet to hot plus a mustard- based one. Slow has four locations around Detroit.
