I had my hair done by Rachel and she was fabulous. Joan is also fabulous, her and Rachel are the only two who cuts my two boys hair. I like showing up early in the morning so my hairstylist takes her time cutting and styling my hair without the bumps and pokes. LOL. But I am always pleased with the end results and I go there regularly when I get the chance. The atmosphere is warm friendly and inviting. I highly recommend this salon to anyone who lives near this area or if they're just visiting the area. Five stars all the way for SmartStyle.

I do not recommend Rachel. She seems to know only one haircut and it is a man's haircut. Even though I asked her to leave hair covering my ears, she cut around the ears, as she would have done for a man, and even gave me Elvis sideburns. I looked so much better when I arrived at her salon than when I left and it will take a couple of months to restore the damage Rachel did. So if you are a man or a lesbian, you are all set, otherwise, I recommend that you avoid sitting in Rachel's chair like the plague. Actually, even if you are a man or a lesbian, you should avoid letting Rachel cut your hair, since it isn't even even from side to side, and it's done completely without any talent or art, just blunt cuts. I could have given myself a better haircut with a dull knife in the mirror at home.

I have been to SmartStyle quite a bit, I usually (Usually) enjoy my experience, but that is only if a couple of different Stylist' do my hair. Sierra, Joan, Becca and Rachel I believe her name is, they are all fantastic but I prefer Sierra (very sweet girl, not only knows how to do her job and do it well but she knows how to build a rapport with her customers). There are some others in that shop that are not only openly rude to their fellow employees but rude to the customers as well.. this is something I've seen with my own eyes and it's not right and I do not know names right now but I will try my best the next time I go in, the girls who give it 100% such as Sierra (big 10-10), Joan, Becca and Rachel. Keep it up. To the rest of you and you know who you are. I will find a way to get the BBB involved as well as whoever I have to to fix the way you openly treat your peers. It's a great place for whoever is reading this and if you go make sure you ask for one of the above Stylist' (if it wasn't for the other girls who seem to enjoy belittling their own peers I would have given this place a perfect score). I went to this salon just because of the previous reviews of this place. I am so cautious of my hair, especially because last year I cut off over 2 ft. of my hair. Today my stylist was Joan. I believe she is the store manager and she was definitely professional. She took time in washing my hair and even gave me tips on how to correctly wash my hair due to my hair being very oily. She pointed out the wave patterns in my hair which I thought was kind of neat to know. She made me feel very relaxed and allowed me to ask silly questions. I never even buy products but she allowed me to try some out and I ended up purchasing a defrizzing serum. The ONLY complaint I have is that it was slightly pricey for me personally. Perhaps I believe that because I am cheap/don't get my haircut very often but I know you get what you pay for here, which is refreshing.

I recently took my 10 year old to get his haircut. The sign said that shampoo, conditioner, and head message are included with every haircut. For some reason my son did not receive this. The stylist didn't even brush his hair. If this is a service they don't provide to kids, they should not have this sign. My son was very disappointed and I was as well because one of the small pleasures in life is getting someone else to wash your hair when you get it cut. The stylist just buzzed off hair around his head and all the clippings went down the poor guy's shirt. I have clippers at home and could have easily done this myself. The stylist didn't cut the top of his hair at all despite me showing her a picture before the haircut. Super disappointed, mainly because my son did not get treated respectfully. Will never go back here again.
