No alcohol, no ground fire. We we're going there to do barbecue and grill. But there is NO equipment for that. So if you want to cook meat there make sure you bring own grill. The views are great here. Beach is small and you are not permitted to swim when lifeguard not on duty. To many restrictions, kinda upset.

I took a canoe from Smithfield Beach. There is a launch area the local river trip companies use. A little annoying that i had to pay $10 to park here mid-week when there were around 5 cars in the lot. National Park Service should have reduced weekday rates. Was also a little annoying to have to find and fill out a tiny envelope for self-pay. There appeared to be a small beach area where you can go swimming. Overall i wouldn't find this place worth the trip unless you are using it to launch a canoe from.

Great access to the Delaware River and picnic grounds. Day use fee but worth it. If you don't like crowds visit off season and avoid warm weather holidays.

Great place to launch a tube, kayak, small boat. Good lounge around place.

Beautiful place! Calm refreshing breath of fresh air. There are no bbq or firepits, you will need to bring your own. No pets allowed and if at all possible do not set yourself near the kayaks or rafts launching base...noisy and very busy with 12 seater coming n going all day long..so much for fresh air! Be careful with your kids there. There are life guards on site. We were there on a Sunday so lifeguards were on site after 11am. The bathrooms are immaculate on seeing that a few years ago it was compost toilets. There are no showers, a bit disappointed, because perhaps most folks would like to rinse off...well at least i may have missed it. There is an area to change though. There is no consession stands either. Be prepared for loud music from some individual picnic site and be prepared for all different types as well. Also be prepared for folks occupying 3 to 4 tables for their families arriving later..a new system needs to be in place to prevent this. Bugs are there to welcome you as well so bring armed forces. You will need to drink all the alcohol at home before coming into this park because the sign clearly states that in english and spanish. The park rangers torments you enough to actually come in your picnic area and can ask to open your coolers. Be warned they do give summons...so drink it all at home. The maintenance staff we friendly and amazing. All i think for me i will be visiting more NY/NJ State Parks from now on. I don't think I appreciate someone stepping on to each and everyones picnic site to look into everyones coolers and basically to scrutinize everthing else. I can understand if there are reports, but never as long as coming there have i seen any disturbances. But this is my last time i think....so long PA you're not the ONLY best place...
