Story

Snug Harbor Resort is a fabulous place for those who love nature and a beautiful, peaceful setting. We are located right across the street from Snug Harbor State Park, where you can launch your boat, fish from the dock, hike on the beautiful nature trails, or picnic. We are only 1 mile from the North Muskegon State Park beach, with boardwalk along the channel, and fantastic views year around. The Winter Sports Complex is two miles away, with an ice rink, ice skating trails though the woods, cross country ski trails, sledding, and home of the only Olympic Luge in the U.S. that is open to the public!

Just returned from my HAPPY PLACE..Lake MI. I was lucky enough to find Snug Harbor. Only 1 mile from Lake MI beach & Muskegon State Park. I think I had their only single room. So, not a full kitchen, but mini frig worked well, had a coffee maker & microwave. As it was the last heat wave of 2017, I was thankful the A/C worked so well and had a ceiling fan !! The room was very clean and after learning how to adjust the adjustable bed, it was great! Very comfortable and no nasty bedspread(like most motels have) The owners, Kim & Willie, were the perfect combination of friendly, helpful and laid-back. He makes a great fire too ! Great time ~ great location !!

Great ice cream! Large servings and many flavors of both hard and soft serve. Incredible value as well. Service can be slow if the line is long since there are often only 2 staff.

Very clean place to stay right by the state park. Both the bedroom and kitchen were very clean, everything smelled fresh which is always a bonus. The whole reason we chose to stay here was because they allowed dogs and had a full kitchen. We loved the fact that there was a fire pit out front that they set up for guests to use. We would definitely return if we visit this area again. Reason for only a 4-Star rating: To me, this is not a "resort" but a nice motel. There were no vending or ice machines that we could find (and with only 8 rooms there wasn't a lot of places to look). The bathrooms are really nice except for the shower head. It was horrible. They could definitely upgrade those to some nice shower heads that have consistent water flow. Also, about those "sleep number" beds that they have in the rooms. They were awful. The remote didn't really work so you couldn't see what number you were putting the bed on and they pretty much felt like you were sleeping on an air mattress. So overall, if you are looking for a no-frills motel with friendly people this is your place. If you are looking for luxury and comfort, you might want to try someplace else.
