This place is absolutely stunning. It’s bright, crisp and beautiful. The food was outstanding. I got the eggs Benedict. You can’t go wrong with their mimosa specials. Impeccable service. Will be coming back again!
Great place to go and meet friends for a fun drink and some good food. There was live music playing when I was there and the DJ setting up for later at night. I’ve been there for brunch on the weekends and the food was delicious. Tonight I had a salad and steak tacos and was very satisfied. my waiter was also very nice.Recommended dishesSkirt Steak
Drinks are tasty but they are 50% of ice if not more. Prices are high for average food. Ask for less ice or avoid buying drinks here. Plates are small as well and it’s hard to understand the higher price. Won’t come back but the servers are nice and always come and fill your water. Very attentive.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: YesDelivery: Yes
Great ambiance and excellent service! I loved that there was someone always in rotation filling up our water glasses. Food was awesome too, we got the charcuterie, ceviche tostadas & steak tacos. I love where it’s situated & so close to so many things!
I came here for a birthday party 10. It wasn’t too busy on a Saturday night. What’s really cool and unique you can scan your order. It goes to your table and you can do separate check from the QR code. What a wild concept. From a server perspective that’s amazing. There were some technical difficulties on a couple peoples order but I think a lot of big restaurants should add feature.
Really good food and drinks. The beachelada was good and spicy. The bottomless mimosas were reasonably priced. The chilaquiles were a large portion were very tasty. Cute Instagramable decor all around. The second time I went to the place the chilaquiles were not as tastyDine in: YesOutdoor seating: Yes
First time here and I will definitely go back. We had reservations and had no wait time, we were seated right away. Drinks are a little pricey but they were good. Food was delicious and service was outstanding. I shared the Chicken Tinga Empanadas, steak lettuce wraps and Bone Marrow. The bone marrow is something I would never try but I did and it was so good and the lettuce wraps were so good they didn't even make it to the picture. Music and atmosphere was also good. I highly recommend it to celebrate a special occasion or just a night out.
I have been to Social three times: twice with a group of 4 or fewer and sat at the bar for cocktails. Once with a group of 8 for bottomless brunch on a Saturday afternoon. I will strongly recommend their bar experience first and foremost! It was great, service was prompt and polite, cocktail menu was diverse and aesthetic we loved the illustrations, very cute. And now I will tell an unsolicited cautionary tale about brunch. We initially made a reservation that ended up needing to grow as it happens, Saturday brunch is popular, but there was a $25 charge per guest to cancel the reservation. We didn't need to cancel it, just needed to modify it to add folks to the group. Modifying the reservation was not an option on the website, even two days before the reservation. I tried to call and the phone number I found on Google and Yelp was for an insurance company. When we did get through with a different number that my friend found somewhere, they were very polite about adding guests to the reservation - which makes sense because the place was totally empty. Saturday at 12pm, beautiful weather, and a $25 cancellation fee PER person - you would expect more of a crowded/upbeat atmosphere. Reservation mishaps aside, the food was fine it's hard to mess up a breakfast quesadilla. I'd love to see a more exciting brunch menu, but in all honesty we came for the mimosas. They were also fine. It was $24 for bottomless which is a great deal in my opinion. Service was lackluster - we had a table of 8 and I think she came to our table three times total in the 2.5 hours we were there. I do have great memories from Social now, because ultimately I was at bottomless brunch with my friends, but the actual restaurant experience left much to be desired.
This place has been around awhile and we try it out once a year, hoping that it gets better… and it doesn’t. Prices keep going up and quality of food is good but not great for the price. There are better options in the city for this type of restaurant. Servers were very nice but pushy to get us out the door, I barely finished half my plate and they asked to take it away 3 times. Drink selection is ok, could be better for a Costa Mesa/Newport experience. The lamb was sold out by 7pm, a bit early to sell out of anything in my opinion. Good for some drinks and no food next time perhaps.
Social restaurant lives up to its name. We gathered there for a traditional Social, the wedding rehearsal party. The setting was outside under a canopy. The fire lamps were blazing beautifully. The table was spread with cheese boards filled with delights. The brussels sprouts were so delicious, cooked in a way I throughly enjoyed. I ordered the salmon it was perfectly cooked not over nor under done, just perfect, and it tasted good too. Perfect salmon is a rare experience for me. Bravo to the chef at Social we were talking about the skills of the chef all night. My wife loved the meatball pasta too. It was a great experience all around; The service was excellent, the drinks good and the food was delicious. I highly recommended SOCIAL of Costa Mesa for your next Social.
