Our favorite getaway spot! Nicole is the best and always treats us like family at the bar by the pool. We feel like royalty when we stay at Sonesta. U have to experience it to understand just how great they make you feel! The beach is beautiful and very private. We will be back again and again, for sure!!!!

My husband and I stayed for a wonderful five days at the Sonesta on Hilton Head Island.  The resort is gorgeous.  The staff was awesome - from the front desk to the concierge to the valet to the cleaning lady to to restaurant staff - everyone was professional and accommodating. The walk to the private beach was beautiful.  We sat in the comfortable chairs by the fire pit on the cooler nights and strolled on the beach to watch the beautiful waters on the few days that the sun appeared.  Happy hour at the lobby bar was a blast.  We had a few laughs and drinks with some of the other guests.  My only issue was the amount of time that it took the hot water to heat up - over 5 minutes.   Oh, and no microwaves in the rooms was a bit of a downer.  Other than that, I highly recommend the Sonesta!  A day trip to Savannah and/or Charleston is an added bonus to the area.  Beauty everywhere!!  We will be back!!!

My family had a wonderful time here. Right on the beach and has all the amenities you'd expect. The pool area is fun. At night they'll do a movie at the pool and there are hammocks and fire pits around the property for relaxing. You can rent a bike for the whole weekend and just take that anywhere you want to go. Really enjoyed it.

I mainly took a star off because the food available leaves a bit to be desired, especially for what you are paying for the room. No breakfast included, why not? Many cheaper hotels have it. Plus the room could have used a more thorough cleaning, especially the bathroom. Other than those minor complains, it's a great resort. It has a nice pool area and easy beach access. Plus a bar right by the pool and one in the lobby. It's also convenient that there's a restaurant in the hotel, though the food is pretty pricey. Overall the room was nice. It had a TV, mini fridge, closet, and a balcony with a couple of chairs on it to get some fresh air. For the price it was alright. Hilton Head Island is a great place to visit though, regardless of where you are staying.

We loved this hotel! When you walk in you feel fancy :) The front desk was awesome when we were checking in and they offer fresh cucumber or some other infused water in the lobby. Our room was comfortable. We didn't use the pool but walked by it to get to the beach. The walk isn't far but it isn't close either...and I lost a flip flop but being barefoot wasn't all that bad. There are also ponds with turtles. They have towels you can borrow to bring to the beach. The bar area was pretty packed at night. Even our kayaking guide from earlier that day told us to ask for this bartender he knew who worked there. I'm not one who hangs out at the hotel bar but this place looked classier than a hole in the wall bar. They have scheduled movies and activities for kids on certain nights. They had a projector out at the pool and played a kids movie which I thought would be awesome if I had a kid of age.
