Soulman’s Bar-B-Que is best to try at least once however I’m unsure if I’ll be returning. I tried the 2 meat-plate with sausage, brisket, Mac & cheese and potatoes, I was satisfied with everything except the brisket which was rather disappointing. The staff was very friendly, restaurant cleanliness was mediocre however I did stop by at the end so I understand. My main reason for not giving more stars comes from the cost which I ended up paying $22.39 for the 2 meat plate and a 32oz cup, for the quality of the brisket I was served and portion size of the brisket, it definitely wasn’t worth that. If you stop by I can definitely vouch for their Mac & Cheese which is creamy and cheesy unlike most bbq places, Spicy Potatoes which had great flavor, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first tried it but I was left amazed and their Sausage had an actual Smokey flavor that the brisket lacked along with a grand portion
Driving through and would have missed out if I would have listened to the reviews!! The food was AMAZING. Had the pulled pork, ribs, chicken, sausage, potato salad, ranchers beans, Cabbage and okra along with the Double Barrel potato with brisket. Basically a Lil bit of all of it!! Staff were friendly and it was very clean. Only thing I'd change is cook okra and fries to order. .don't worry we will wait for it!! Will mark this as a regular road trip spot!!
We have been here countless times and the food is always delicious and the staff is always fast and friendly! We took my mom here while she was visiting and she was also impressed. The brisket is my go to. We ordered almost every side and had so much food to bring home. I love this place and even like the fact that it’s a little old and run down. They don’t need a pretty establishment because they know their food is amazing. We will be back many more times!
I ordered the fries with pulled pork on top and the fries were basically RAW! Seems like they dropped them in the grease for 20 seconds and pulled them right out . They were clearly not cooked , raw , dense and still white in color . Unbelievable that they would send food out like this .
First time eating this BBQ. Fast,friendly welcoming employees. Had a chopped brisket sandwich with their homemade fries.. brisket was delicious great flavor and the fries also . I got the sweet tea, but was not sweat so little disappointed.. would of gave 5 stars but the tea was not sweat, and my original order was a sliced brisket not chopped. Overall great food and service.
Not a 4 Star BBQ restaurant! or at least it was not the day I tried it. Meal 2 Meat combo Sliced beef and ribs Brisket - No smoke flavor, no bark, no flavor, and just luke-warm service temp - Tasted like it had been cooked in the oven not a smoker. Ribs - The ribs were better but still not great. The were a bit dry but at least hot temperature wise, but no smoke and very little seasoning. These seemed like they were cooked in the oven as well. Sides Mac and Cheese - Not out of a box but the Mac was overcooked and mushy, The cheese sauce was so-so but needed more cheese to me not just the cheese sauce. Pinto beans - Cold, watery, under seasoned and a bit under cooked. Any food that comes from steam-table should never be cold. Bread - Texas toast Stale and was cold, seems like it was done in advance?? I could only eat one bite and that was it for me. There is no excuse for a place having bad toast. Sauce - They offer Sweet or spicy - I tried the sweet and it was OK. It at least made the meat taste better but that was not saying much. Thoughts - One of the sayings outside was "We're not Stingy with Our Meats" from my perspective this is not true and should be removed from the widow. For what you pay for a 2 meat combo and a drink you should not walk away hungry but I did. I dine at a lot of BBQ places and I'm always trying new ones and I've tried this place twice but have never been satisfied with the quality or quantity of the food. Also I know these are franchise locations and are not run the same way so there are maybe other ones that have better quality. The saving grace for this meal was that I had a coupon for $5 off but even with the discount it was not worth the money to me. Rating - 1.5 Stars
We went here on a Wednesday night, At first we were skeptical because it look empty inside. But once we walked in we were greeted and the two gentlemen working there were really nice and helpful since it was our first time there. The food was very good! I highly recommend. We would definitely be back in the future.
The food was great, but what I really wanted to comment on was the customer service. Everyone in there was so friendly. The man ringing me up held the door open for me so I could get out without spilling anything. Super sweet staff and delicious food!
Family was out for a day and on the way was passing by and decided to give it a try. One word excellent. Great selection and portions sizes were very nice. Nobody left hungry for sure. Employees were super nice. Restaurant was very clean and the food was fresh!
Great tasty food. Everytime we come here. However its been a little while since we were last here, all but 1 young lady is familiar and excellent customer service. Madison just stood there like a zombie when I was telling her what sides we wanted. No smile, no hello, no acknowledgment that she understood. That moment was very awkward until young man Dyneral stepped in to take over. Then she charged my husband 2.58 for the bread, which we didn't get the first time that was supposed to come with the meals we paid for. She didn't apologize for her actions, not once when we addressed it. Just a little disappointed with that dine in experience.
