Horrible experience. I called to make an appointment for Saturday morning because I was going out in the evening. They told me I was going to be meeting with Hana and the price would be $70, for my silk press. I get there and they tell me that I'm actually meeting with Velma and that Hana is booked all day. I would've been OK with that but after reading their profiles on their website, it showed that Hana specialized in natural hair and that she was "phenomenonal" meanwhile, Velma specialized in children's hair. I'm not a child and I have thick natural hair so I obviously wanted Hana to do it. 

After conversing with Hana and expressing this to her, she offered Kim (the owner) to do my hair instead. Kim agreed and told me to  sit in the chair for a wash. She then comes back and tell me that her  price would be $110... because she's "the owner". $110 For a silk press?!?!? I walked right out.... 

I've had some bad experiences with salons but this one takes the cake. Smh

I went to this salon for the first time to get a professional blow out and trim. The staffs were nice, polite and knowledgeable about natual hair. The overall result was excellent but I will not be going back there. The two con's I have is that I did not like how the stylist was detangling my hair, I felt like she was just yanking my hair out.  Also for the blow out & flat iron for curls, the heat was burning my scalp throughout the process. After I was done, I had a headache for the rest of the day.

Had my natural hair colored for the first time and was a "little" nervous, but I have friends who frequent the salon and a sister who assured me that Sam knew what she was doing and guess what, they were correct.  I was probably a dream client in the sense that I told Sam that she could do what she thought would be best (my specifications, no auburn and I wanted highlights).  I walked out happy and over a month later, I am still receiving complements.  

The reality is that if you have natural hair, you cannot play cheap and go to someone who does not know what they are doing. This salon specializes in natural hair and has the professional staff to back up with quality work.

If you need a color but have concerns regarding the impact to your natural coils, just visit the salon, look at the hair entering and leaving the salon and speak with one of the stylists, they are well trained and up to date on techniques. No need to travel to Manhattan or Brooklyn.

I was treated very well.  The touch to your hair is just right.  It was professional pampering done right.  I felt good leaving and will come again.  Kim sets the right atmosphere for magic to happen.

I ABBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBSLOUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEE THIS SALON!!! I've been natural (the second time around) for about 3 1/2 years now! Sam is a miracle worker! My hair is back to my high school length (LONG). She brought my hair back to life. The staff is ALWAYS professional and very friendly. Any chance I get recommend this place. I'm always in and out! 10 STARS!!!!!!!
