Fantastic service, our meals came out quickly. The chicken curry we ordered was scrumptious, with a lot of interesting spices. The tonkotsu ramen was alright, we felt that there was an overpowering amount of fish sauce and the flavors of the pork were virtually non-existent. Prices were standard for the area. Overall, a great restaurant - we look forward to coming back.
A quick noodle fix with a fusion twist. As a casual noodle bar chain, Soup Shack offers a variety of Asian noodles and light Japanese bites. While the Porter Square area is full of excellent Japanese fast food options, Soup Shack stands out for its eclectic mix of Asian noodle dishes, ranging from Thai noodles and Pho to Ramen, all served with impressive speed – usually within five minutes. The appetizers I tried were solid. The Agedashi Tofu and Chicken Karaage were both executed well. However, the entrées were either hit or miss. Sautéed in spicy garlic sauce, the Spicy Cha She was an enjoyable dish. The dirty ramen and tonkatsu ramen, on the other hand, had a peculiar sweet aftertaste that made it feel like an unexpected Thai-Japanese fusion. This somewhat overshadowed the savoriness of the broth, so it was slightly off-putting for me. Soup Shack is still an ideal spot if you’re looking for a quick, no-frills meal. Not sure if I would try their noodles again, but I might drop by for their other entrées. Parking: Free plaza parking lot
Definitely recommend this Thai place! Food is very delicious and service is super fast. Ramen with beef was super nice. My favorite is grilled chicken rice bowl. Edamame is also nice to have. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free ramen is available
Had an awesome time at Soup Shack in Porter Square! Kevin, our server, was super cool and made us feel right at home. Everyone there was just so friendly, making the whole vibe really laid-back and welcoming. Now, let’s talk about the ramen – it was killer! The broth was on point, and they even had homemade kimchi that added just the right kick. But the real game changer? The marinated egg. They actually take the time to marinate it, and you can totally taste the difference. It’s those little touches that make me love this place. If you’re around Porter Square and craving some legit ramen, hit up Soup Shack. Great food, cool people, and an all-around chill spot.
It’s a small place but the food is great! The pork belly rice bowl is very delicious.Food: 5/5
Went here for some good noodles and they delivered. I don’t often see places offer duck, so I ordered the Duck Noodle soup 17.95 and I always love to get Thai iced tea 5.50. The portion and flavor was fantastic, and the wait staff were very friendly and helpful. 12/10 would eat here again.Food: 5/5
This was our 2nd choice actually but couldn't have more excited since the one across the street, our original plan to go there, but there was a line which if it wasnt cold i would have waited but next time for sure. Either way loved this one...Food: 5/5
For appetizers had the octopus balls and the fried oysters. The fried oysters were just okay but did not like the octopus balls too much. It barley had any octopus in it. I would honestly give the appetizers a 3 star overall. The ramen was was okay as well. I have had much better rumen. Ordered their spicy ramen which was no where near spicy and the hot chilly oil was not spicy either. All it did was add some flavor. The service however was great and the food was reasonably priced. Glad I tried the food but I would not go back.
Really enjoyed the pork bao bun. Good amount of meant and piled high with pickled veggies! Also really enjoyed the one soup I tried. Can't remember which one but great flavors. Very fast service as well
Ramen exceeded expectations for Boston area. Partner and I ordered the Shoyu and Spicy Miso and both came out quickly. The pork was surprisingly good, though the accoutrements were light some corn, bamboo shoots. Would've liked to see more toppings, but can't complain too much for the price.Food: 4/5
