Mission

It is the goal of the South Huntington Public Library to ensure the transmission of knowledge and culture, and to provide opportunities for improved quality of life to the diverse population of the South Huntington School District through free and open access to technology and information promoting literacy, education, enlightenment and entertainment. The library shall provide state-of-the-art software and hardware for public use and stay abreast of new and emerging technologies.

I'm not sure how a library can be better than this. Huge and with an amazing collection of books, movies, music, and video games, it's everything you could ever want in a library. A quiet adult-oriented section on a totally different floor than the enormous and spectacularly well-planned children's section downstairs illustrates the library's commitment to being the best experience possible. Can't say enough good things about this library.

This is one of the best libraries I've ever been to. They have excellent programs for children. They provide a clean and friendly environment that keep you coming back. The building and grounds are immaculate and beautifully kept. They have an extensive selection of books, movies and other forms of entertainment. Have multiple free passes to kid friendly museums. It's just a great place.

Poor choice of vending machine snacks. I mean they have unfrosted poptarts but no one even likes those! Please Mrs. librarian person if you are reading this, GET PORK RINDS!!!!!!!!!

The chairs are comfy. Children and teens have their own separate spaces. There's a small snack area; even a garden to enjoy and to read outside. Also many fun events and art displays.
