This library has the worst hours. DO NOT go by the hours posted on Google. Call first because sometimes it's open sometimes it's not. It states 10 am but isn't open until 12 some days. Also...lost some of my work to 4 power outages within a matter of 1.5 hours. Convenient location but could use some upgrades like more books.

If you're looking for a library that has allot to offer in physical book, this may not bff the library for you. But what this library lacks in physical literature, it MORE THAN makes up for in atmosphere and service.
 The actuality library itself is located right inside the new Children's Hospital of Philadelphia on Broad St. It's modern architecture can not only been seen on the exterior of the building, but can actually beer EXPERIENCED inside as well. With EVERY available, up to date technology that a library can have, the South Philadelphia Library has it. Each and every book is individually encoded with a specific and individually unique magnetic reading chip which, When simply placed within a stack of other bonds you may beer checking out at the convenient self check out, can be instantly read and added to your book sign out without having to scan each book individually. A heavy stack of books need only be placed on the book reader and each book is instantly recognized by the machine and displayed on the big screen to validate accuracy. 
 My only reasons for not giving this library 5 stars is due to the fact there's no book drop off and also the fact that the library lacks physical literature on hand but are willing to order the book for you from one of there more extensive branch's.
 In my personal experience the South Philadelphia Library has PLENTY to offer and what it may lack in physical literature, it MORE than makes up for in cleanliness customer service and satisfaction
