We are local family-owned business, fully licensed, bonded, and insured with over 30 years of experience in commercial and residential electrical service work. South Sound Electric's owner, Raymond Boink, has lived and worked in Kitsap county for over 40 years. He served his Electrical apprenticeship in the International Brotherhood Of Electrical Workers (IBEW Local 46) and has held a Washington State Journeyman's License for over 30 years.

SOUTH SOUND ELECTRIC was a "no show" today for my estimate.  No phone call either.  When I called them back, a message machine took my information but no one returned the call.  This seems to be a problem with this company.  I'm guessing it's an air head "family" receptionist.  How could they stay in business?  Anyway, I'm moving on.  Bad reviews.

Hired them to do repairs in a house my 89 yr old father-in-law purchased. We excepted their bid, but they neglected to inform us they were going on vacation.  After vacation, they forgot about us! They've came over a couple of times, but it has taken phone calls from us, there is wiring that needs to be FINISHED! It has been 2 1/2 months! All the other contractors are way done! Still waiting on this outfit... I would not recommend this company

NOTE: I may update this depending on how the follow-on service is re: the inspection report.

I was in the process of house-buying when my primary inspector indicated that the house likely has K&T wiring.  He suggested I contact a licensed electrician to inspect the wiring.  My insurance said that they would insure K&T wiring only if it did not connect with my main appliances or other heavy-draw devices.

Long story short, I had only two days left to inspect the house, and South Sound Electric was able to squeeze me in for an inspection before they started their normal schedule for the day.  They arrived, were friendly, and best of all, allayed all fears with the electric.  They performed an extensive inspection and gave me items that they feel should be fixed, but best of all, they were able to identify that the house no longer had K&T, but old style romex.

Now, I don't know how good they are at making appointments that you schedule in the future (as others have commented on), but at least for my inspection, they were prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable.

I should have read the reviews first..  I called and scheduled an appointment - no one showed up!  Will never call this company again!!
