SICA on Foursquare https://foursquare.com/artatsica
The Southern Indiana Center for the Arts is housed in an 1851 two-story brick mansion owned by recording artist John Mellencamp. It is a Greek revivalist style with Italian details on the porches. The house has a unique history and has changed little over the years. The Art Center has taken care to keep the home-feeling of the house while serving as an Art Center.
The Art Center is open noon to five Wednesday and Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday or by appointment. If you are out of town and drop by when the Art Center is not open, you may call the numbers posted in the window and might possibly get someone to open for you. The Southern Indiana Center for the Arts is located off Highway 11 (Ewing Street) in Rockford. Rockford is located just north of Seymour's city limit. Look for SICA's sign on the west side of the highway across from the little white church.
If you are driving on I-65, use the Seymour-Jonesville exit. Drive south on Highway 11 approximately three miles. After you cross the White River you will come to a stop light. Just after the stop light start looking to the right for the SICA sign. If you pass the "Welcome to Seymour" sign, you have gone too far!
We love visitors, so please stop by!
You are always welcome at SICA!
