This place is delicious. The atmosphere is very enjoyable and everyone is very kind. I have been about five times and one time I was lucky enough to experience live music which was actually really pleasing. I'm a musician so I can be incredibly critical. This band was great. Apparently they have live music every Wednesday and every weekend. This is a perfect place to be a regular. One downside is that parking is a little slim. But there are plenty of places to park if you're okay with a two or three minute walk. I recommend arriving around 7 during the week. This gives the older crowed plenty of time to finish eating. The restaurant seems clear out all at once, which is really nice.

The food was bland and forgettable. Maybe it was my fault for ordering the meatloaf. The best part of it was the ketchup. It wouldn't have been so bad if the prices they commanded were reasonable for the food you get. I'm not a picky eater, and I'm easy to satisfy, but this place lost my vote. My wife usually doesn't complain about the quality of food, but she did with this place. The actual restaurant is nice though.

Without a doubt, this is one of the "anchor" restaurants in Jamestown. Great interpretation of "southern cuisine" using organic and local ingredients whenever possible. A nice selection of meat/seafood entrees, appetizers, desserts. I highly recommend their version of a southern bread pudding! If you've never had bread pudding, this is the one to judge all others by! A nice enclosed patio that fills up fast in warm weather and spills over into parking lot seating...odd, but it works! A separate (and popular) bar area. Great live music on weekend evenings. Another high energy place...you won't find quiet dining here, but if you're a local, you're sure to find neighbors and friends. Whether you're looking for a lunch on the patio or a date night dinner out, Southern Roots is a good choice.

$$ - Busy local spot for lunch, dinner and drinks. Upscale casual. Good food with a Southern bent. Some of my favs; Iceberg Wedge (lunch), Shrimp and Grits (and I don't normally like grits!). Enjoy!

Great food! Came here while visiting. Had the steak salad. The steak was very flavorful and tender, but would have liked more steak. Also had the bread pudding. Another phenomenal dish. Highly recommend!
