This bakery is just awful. I ordered a MAC cake for a bridal shower I was hosting. We sent the baker pics of the cake. She said she couldn't use the exact colors because of copy right infringements so I told her she could change the color of the eye shadows and the ribbon around it. When the cake is picked up its a hot mess. The pink icing looked white, there was empty spaces on the cake where the makeup should of been. She did not do all the makeup pieces that was in the pic and the ones that she did do came off. The cake cost 110. All she said was sorry. Oh before I forget in that blank space I asked if she could at least write congratulations on it in teal or turquoise blue. She writes it on the cake in green. It looked like my 3 yr old wrote it with a marker that was going out of ink and she had the nerve to tell me it was hand painted. Now for taste. The cake was just plain nasty. Yes I read the reviews the said this place was disgusting so I went and paid for a couple of cupcakes that tasted pretty good so that's why I decided to go with her. Maybe she needs to stick with making cupcakes. That cake was hard and disgusting. The only reason I gave one star is because I had to in order to post this. Beware of Southern Sweets Café. They will never ever ever get any business from me nor my friends or family.

The ladies that run Southern Sweets in Hinesville are the most wonderful example of Southern charm. The baked goods are the best in town, and 1,000,000 times better than anything you'll get at Panera Bread or Dunkin Donuts. We've special ordered several items, including a pink and red velvet layered cake with white chocolate ganash...it was stunning! Before they moved, the cafe offered a good variety of breakfast and lunch items. Our absolute favorite was the "Beer Cheese Soup". I'm not sure if they intend on bringing the cafe back or not, but you'll be missing out on some good hospitality, free samples, and spectacular baked goods if you pass on this place. As a matter of fact, I have a cake that I ordered that will be ready this Tuesday!!! I can't wait. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. I guarantee you will NOT be disappointed, and if you are they will not let you walk away without fixing the problem.

I love the sweets at this little local bakery. I'll probably try everything they have at least once. Have had nothing but friendly service. This place also features a small art gallery that supports local talent.

Stopped in a while back and got 2 dozen assorted cupcakes to take back to work. Every single one was old, stale, dry, and awful. I had several people ask me to not go back, and a few asked where it was so they would know not to go.
