Had a short weekend in Mathews and we loved this place so much we went 2 days in a row! People, food and place was great! We will be going back next time we are in the area.
The restaurants in Deltaville were full at 8pm on a Friday night in early October which was unexpected, so our group of five friends drove to Mathews to get pizza. We called and ordered ahead, a Rigby Island pizza and a New Pointe pizza. When we arrived they were getting ready to close but the staff said we could sit on the porch to eat which was super nice of them. They served us drinks and dessert as if we had ordered for dine in. We were so happy to have such friendly and welcoming service since it was so late. Our waiter Michael was wonderful and we will certainly be back. That buttermilk parmesan dressing they have is worth the drive.
My pizza was fantastic! The Philly sandwich was okay, the jerked chicken sandwich was good. Wide variety of beer on tap, friendly staff, great atmosphere.
The food was very good as was the service. We dined on the porch and it was the perfect day for it. I had and thoroughly enjoyed! one of the specials, the flounder po' boy. The only down side was that they are understaffed like everyone else these days and that led to tables not being bussed in a timely manner. If you know someone in need of work, send them to a local restaurant!

Our food was absolutely delicious. We had so much, we had supper for tonight. The service was wonderful. The server was attentive, knew the menu well, kept our p.ates cleared, and drinks refilled. It was clean and has a unique atmosphere, a wonderful Valentines Day. Thank you !
Southwind Pizza features a menu with far more than simlly pizza -- be forewarned! We were a group of 10 ladies dining out for our monthly lunch group different place every time. And I was the only one who ordered and enjoyed pizza! But I can't tell you the name of what I had, because the pizzas are each named after local, geographic places. Good thing the menu identified what each pizza includes.
Out of towners here from the DC area and we stopped by this place to pick up some carry out pizza. Wow! What a great place and great pizza. The dough is made fresh daily and baked I a hearth oven. All the ingredients are warf/farm to table. We had the Big Island as recommended by the hostess and it didn’t disappoint. Sorry we didn’t get any pics because it was all gone by the time I thought about it. This will certainly be a place we stop the next time we’re over here.
I live in Ohio and my sister lives in Cobbs Creek and it was her birthday so I googled searched a pizza place and found Southwind! Faye was amazing & helpful taking my order and very knowledgeable of the menu. My sister enjoyed her pizza and salad and said it was delicious! Thank you
