I went to SCCU to open a new account with a decent opening balance. SCCU decided to hold this money for 7 business days, even though their policy only requires a 5 business day hold. I went to the w Melbourne branch to find out why I still did not have access to my money. The branch manager tells me "the issuing account had insufficient funds" which she verified with the issuing banks receptionist, via phone. 
1. I was not aware banks were able to verify funds via phone. 
2. Since when does the receptionist have access to customer funds. 
3. My account did not reflect as such. 
If I give you a pretty good sum of money, I expect to be treated with some decency and honesty. They were nice enough to issue me a check for my deposit (minus members fees of course, even though I was never able to use any of their services). I will never bank with SCCU after this experience.

Garbage. They stopped taking deposits @ their ATMs. That, along with other things made me close my account.

I have been with SCCU for about 10 years. They are about the 5th or 6th financial institution that I have been a part of in my life and SCCU is by far my favorite! There have been countless of times that SCCU has gone way over and above to meet my needs as a customer and are always SO pleasant to deal with! Their rates are usually always the lowest too. I stopped shopping years ago!
