The pictures that are shown for this place aren't even accurate. Spanish Creek Campground is located in the canyon off of Feather River Hwy. There are 2 levels to the grounds, with 10 up top and drive down further for the last 10. There are about 6 camp spots that sit directly on the river. There is a beach at the river with a fantastic swimming hole. Bring a floatee and spend the afternoon hanging out. I wish someone would have reviewd on that. Because it was fantastic and we didn't bring any toys to play with in the swimming hole. This spot is such a great spot to swim that even the Quincy locals go there. Off of camp spot 6 there is a trail that takes you down to an old mining claim. If spot 6 is empty you will see "the road" within the trees. We followed it down to an old dam and fished there. It's funny to me how different people's experiences can be. I loved the camp hosts; the older couple were friendly and they answered all my questions. This is an old campground, so there are vaulted toilets and water faucets at the toilets, not at the sites. There are bear boxes. One little thing, there are train tracks that sit high above you in the trees, and that train drives by at least 6 times a day. It's not too evasive but for some it may be . Also, some of the sites are pretty close together. Best sites are #6, #8, #16, and #20.

Would give a zero if I could. We pulled in and didn't even want to stay and camp after chatting with the camp host for 2 minutes. He was very degrading and stand offish. He kept shutting me down while trying to ask questions. Needless to say we left and drove another hour to find a more welcoming place to stay.
