We have been visiting Spanky's Stone Hearth long before Josh owned it (2005).   We live in Orlando, Florida and spend a good deal of time in Detroit Lakes each summer.   In 2010 there was a fire that totaled the restaurant and my wife and I were devastated....our favorite restaurant was closed!  It reopened in 2011 and has improved greatly, even though it was so good before the fire, the new restaurant is awesome.   It takes about 25 minutes for us to drive to Spanky's but we do so frequently!    Josh has improved this restaurant greatly and we feel very at home when we visit.   Josh is involved whole heartedly in every meal that is turned out.   Frankly, the food, the ambiance, and the owner all make us want to return.   We like to spend a half hour or so at the bar just to take in the ambiance and then get a table and have another cocktail and finally, supper.   Simply, we love this place and look forward to our every visit.

Can honestly say I've never had a bad meal at Spanky's! Their mango martinis are absolutely amazing as are their Long Island Teas! Love their full-flavored ribeyes as well as Hawaiian chicken or coconut shrimp. My husband always goes for prime rib or the full rack of ribs and they are amazing also! No matter how full you are you have to finish off the night with their homemade carrot cake, best way to end the evening!

This is hands down the best fine dining restaurant in the county, I take my lady here a couple times a year.  There specials are always fresh and delicious.  It's spendy but worth it.

Our favorite date night spot when we visit on family vacations! I usually order the "trust me" item off the menu. I have yet to be disappointed. The atmosphere is awesome, and very relaxing. Service was also exceptional. Great appetizers, great food, great value.

Fantastic as always!!  We just celebrated our daughter and son-in-laws 2nd anniversary at Spanky's on Saturday, August 26th.  It was a busy night (as usual).  Our food and service was excellent!!  I have been in the restaurant business myself so I understand how difficult this business can be!!  Makes my real estate business look easy!  Thanks Josh and staff!
