I've got to be honest, I've never liked Indian food... but they got me hooked now!!! I got the lamb madrasi and I got it New York hot, I honestly could have done the Bombay hot. You get all the rice you want which was awesome as well. I was taking my wife out for a mother's day dinner on Friday, and it was just busy enough that we didn't have to wait, but still got to people watch haha. The service was quick and polite. I recommend going in for sure, tell them Jordan sent you.
Service was good giving service 4 star.food 3 star biriyani was nothing like biriyani.it was like curry and rice mixed.chicken tikka masala was yummy i must admit ,but here in Boise the way they make tandoori chciken it's nothing like the real tandoori.Back in Texas Tandoori is really good close to authentic one !
2nd trip here was even better than the first! Definitely the best Indian food in the Treasure Valley. Great food and service! Authentic Indian food! It's a sit down place that has beer and wine. Will be going back soon. I loved the "Boise Hot" heat level lol. They have the real spice.
This is some of the best Indian food I've had in the valley hands down! A family runs it and you can tell everything in their food is made with love from the rice to the naan to the butter chicken. The chicken that was in the butter chicken was so tender and juicy on its own everything just came together so perfectly. I also got a mango Lassie which I don't have a picture of for some reason I must have forgot but all in all I give this place two thumbs up and a five-star review if you're looking for Indian food in the Treasure Valley this is the place hands down 100%. I will never go anywhere else in this area!! Keep up the amazing work!
Very yummy food! Had the lamb curry and wife had butter chicken. Both were made very well. The meat was very tender easy to cut. Loved their garlic naan also. It made a great meal. The atmosphere was small and cozy.
We waited an hour due to the kitchen being backed up. Honestly, it doesn’t matter. It was worth the wait. I love coming to eat here. They have the best butter chicken and garlic naan bread.
By far our favorite place to eat. The food is absolutely delicious, the staff is always friendly, and the portions are perfect. Best place in Boise for authentic Indian food at the best price.
I tried Spice Indian Cuisine Meridian today I'm not really that familiar with Indian cuisine but...this ranks among my favorite Asian restaurants so far if not my current number 1. My favorite cuisine might be Thai, but I really have to explore Indian cuisine after this. Basmati rice here is unlimited and that is well stated by the waitress. I think Kabob House is the only other reataurant that I know of here that has this. The soup of the butter chicken mixed with the unlimited basmati rice is so indulgently good, I'm not even sure if what I'm eating is supposed to be a common practice. It probably is, but I just knew now because it's my first time. Even that simple freebie appetizer is already a show-off. I don't even know what it's called. Actually, everything on the menu is great. This is probably the first restaurant I tried that I have no criticisms whatsoever.
I've eaten here many, many times over the past few years, and their food is extremely well made, has excellent flavors, and I cannot say enough great things about the spices, the menu, and the value of what they provide. There are a few other Indian places in the Treasure Valley area, and I've eaten at most of them, but they pale in comparison to the quality that Spice has! Now, there are a few points I want to make, explaining why I only gave them 4 out of 5 stars. 1. They only open at 5pm, so you can only visit them for dinner unless you want to reheat leftovers the next day. 2. If you order a take-out meal, they don't pay a lot of attention to detail. I prefer no green peppers in my meals, and a lot of their entrees have green peppers in them either for flavor or as a filler. When I call on the phone and place an order for $80 for many entrees, and specifically request NO GREEN PEPPERS, I would appreciate it if there were no green peppers. 3. The portion sizes are all over the place. When you order curry masala with sauce, if you are like me, you either want to soak all of your rice in the yummy goodness, or dip your bread naan, roti, etc.. in it. But if your plastic container that comes with your meal is only 1/2 full, you quickly run out of the sauce my Hindu friends call it "surwah", which means you end up with a lot of leftover plain rice. 4. I understand they make a lot of rice at this place, most of the meals they provide include it. But if you stir it every once in a while, you won't end up giving your customers rice that includes a bunch of clumped up globs that are really inedible. 5. You used to, but you no longer have a website. Websites are not expensive. Instead of using the excuse "The people who owned our website shut it down, we didn't own it, but we have a Facebook!" is a terrible excuse. Get a website, they are super cheap and a successful restaurant should have one, even if it is simple. 6. Lastly, Papadum is not expensive, but your menu says that it is included in every entrée. What it does not say is "Only for dine in". When you go to a Mexican restaurant, many of them give you homemade chips and salsa. If you order your meal to go, they put chips and salsa in the bag, they don't say it is only for dine in. Do your customers a favor who don't want to dine in, give them the Papadum they deserve. 7. My last bit of critique is for your customer service. Some members of your staff have excellent customer service and phone skills, some do not. Don't just let any person get on the phone and talk to your customers, let the people who have good customer service skills do that. My experience personally has been that the women that work at your establishment are good at it, the men, not so much. Don't take it as a negative, take it as constructive criticism! All of that aside, keep up the great work Spice, continue being the shining example of Indian cuisine that you have been, and your competitors will continue to eat your dust. Thank you!
The food is good but the new hours aren't very accommodating for patrons. They have eliminated the buffet for Covid and never brought it back, even with the new guidelines. It's very expensive to order alacart. Disappointed that we can't visit more often.
