Square Lake Park is a great place to swim and take the family for cookouts.  Be warned, if you are out of shape, you may have a tough time getting up and down the hill from the parking lot, but then again, you may want to come here for a good hills workout. The water is clear - very clear. They do need more picnic tables and grills. People sometimes wait for hours to get a picnic table.

Great little lake and beach area that is kid-friendly.  As others mentioned, there are quite a few beach rules.  This is both blessing and curse; it's not a free-for-all but can be a little restrictive on the fun-scale.  Our family enjoys bringing our canoe here, enjoying a paddle, and finishing with a swim.  It's a perfect size lake for me to teach my 6-year old to paddle a canoe and swim without him getting overwhelmed or bored.

Square Lake has super clear and temperate water. The lake front beach is clean with great restrooms and swimming area. The cost to enter was $7 (as of July 2017). 

This is a very family-friendly swimming and park area as there are multiple life guard stations, picnic benches, and barbecues. 

As an adult, it is a bit of an inconvenience that they have everyone get out of the water every 45 minutes or so for about 20 minutes. However, I totally understand as it is a family beach.

I love it here! The water was so clear. The park was clean. The beach area was also clean, which made the experience more enjoyable
