St. Athanasius Orthodox Church supports the faith of people from all over the Bluegrass area, including Nicholasville and greater Lexington.

Mission

To Grow in Christ ourselves and to share this gift of our Orthodox faith with all those whom the Lord brings to us. We do this through vibrant worship of God in an Orthodox manner, through fellowship with each other, by committing ourselves to life-long Christian formation, and by reaching out to others.

A great place to learn about who God is, who we are, and what it truely means to take up our crosses and follow after God. Those who attend are average people in all stages of working out their salvation. Not a person there is perfect but we try to love each other. There are great ministry and outreach programs. The youth program is awesome. The priest has a great heart and energetically works to help and reach as many as he can, while also working to keeep his family life as healthy as possible. Is it a perfect church? Not at all. But the truth is taught, the faith of the apostles is the foundation of the interpretation of scripture,  and people are finding healing for their souls...  And i think that is way awesome!
