Located in Lorain Ohio, St. Mary's Choice Food Pantry is a local 501 c(3) that offers a hot meal and groceries to those in need.

Story

The St. Mary’s Choice Food Pantry is a non-profit food pantry that, in connection with Faith Feeders Hot Meal Program, provides a hot meal and a monthly allowance of groceries and toiletries to those in need.

Initially opening our doors in 2005 to serve 50 low income families, the pantry currently offers assistance to over 1000 individuals monthly and the need is ever growing.

Because our organization is staffed and run entirely by volunteers, every single penny of our operating budget goes directly into the surrounding low income community through services offered.

We strive to provide a sense of dignity and respect to those we serve. To that end, we have designed our pantry to operate similar to a grocery store, allowing customers to select their own food from our pantry shelves. This provides a feeling of normalcy to our guests while cutting waste from unwanted or unneeded food.

In addition to monthly grocery allotments, we also provide additional assistance in the form of formula and diapers to low income mothers when the resources are available.

We also provide holiday meals, complete with all of the fixings, to our guests at Thanksgiving so that they may spend this precious time with their loved ones without the worry of how to provide.

Overall, we aim to be a bridge between America’s food bounty and those who struggle to provide for themselves and we invite you to join in the fight to end the cycle of hunger.
