Wonderful parish! My four sons and daughter (ages 5 to 14yrs) love the priests and the attention they get every Sunday. Fr. Alphonse and Fr. Victor are their favorites. (They greet them each by name 😊) Donuts, coffee and orange juice after all the Sunday Morning masses, and even a family movie night once a month! LOTS of opportunities here to serve the local community. We park by the beach and walk 10min to church to make it even better for our family.

The priest was very rude to my daughter when we went to mass. My daughter's CCD class requires all students to get a signature from the priest where they attended mass. Immediately after mass my daughter walked up to the priest and said, "Excuse me Father..." at this point the priest put his hand out in front of her face and said, "you need to wait until I am done greeting my parishioners!" She did not even complete her sentence before he interrupted her. My daughter was completely taken back by this response. I then proceeded to tell him, "We too attended mass and are parishioners..." His response, "LIKE I TOLD YOUR DAUGHTER YOU NEED TO WAIT!" We were completely appalled by this priests unwelcoming nature. His bedside manner to a child was unjustified. I did not realize there is a certain "protocol" for children to speak to a priest, nor did I realize that a child must wait to speak to a priest in order for him to "greet his parishioners" prior to even greeting my daughter. Any human being should feel welcomed at a church, especially a child. Had the priest even gave a response such as, "Good morning...How are you"...and then asked to wait until he was done, I could understand. However, he rudely cut her off without giving a single reason as to why she was not good enough to be spoken to as every other member of the church. We contacted our parish priest who was also shocked with this behavior. I have been raised in the Catholic Church and attended private Catholic school for my education. I have never encountered a priest as rude as this. The next time we are on vacation in the Pismo area we will definitely have to find a different Church that is more welcoming. Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14

Beautiful, faith-filled community. Loving, personal and caring priests and lay persons. Blessed to be a part of this congregation.
