I was weary about eating here based on reviews. But I was pleasantly surprised. The service was good and timely. The portions were quite large. The food was pretty good. Not outstanding but good. No complaints. I would go back!Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: Yes

I first saw Stacks Pancake House on a recent stop at QC Fuel, which is right next door and shares a common vestibule entrance with Stacks. I'm not frequently down in this part of Bettendorf, but it's a great part of the town. There are a few bar/restaurants, some nice looking strip malls, the Waterfront Convention Center, and City Hall all close by. My work is a straight shot down Highway 67 and a further trip across the I-80 bridge, so a pre-work breakfast seemed like the right thing to do this morning.  I like this space - it's clearly new and/or well kept up. They have a nice drop ceiling with no visible HVAC ductwork, new looking wood panel flooring, and comfy booths. An interesting menagerie of decorations line the walls with everything from small watercolor prints, to a huge painting of a bird near the kitchen, as well as a big wood panel sign with the STACKS on it hanging on another wall. Between these tasteful decorations, the blue and white walls throughout the space, and the ample mixed lighting supplied by the recessed fixtures and natural light from the windows, the space has a clean, comfortable look.  I selected a Fiesta Skillet for my entree with sourdough toast. The food was cooked and out to me within 10 minutes. Everything was fantastic - the hash brown potatoes had an appropriate amount of balance of doneness supplying some needed texture the scrambled eggs were fluffy and went great with the toast, and the beef and vegetables were well cooked and seasoned. The waiter kept my drink refilled through the whole experience and was nice the entire time.  All in all, I had a great meal this morning and would come back here again. This rates near the top of my experiences going out to breakfast before work and, given the proximity to my normal driving route, I'd come back again, eagerly. Thanks Stacks!  Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options on the menu. You have the option of a two or three egg breakfast with hash browns and toast, no meat involved.  Kid-friendliness: There are high chairs right off the entrance. Though I didn&#39;t see any kids in the space during my recent visit, nobody in the restaurant seemed anti-child.  Parking: There is ample free parking immediately adjacent to the restaurant.

Was o.k. pancakes were acceptable smaller than what I usually see for a pancake. Service was good. Mushrooms were from a can.

I saw other reviews online that said to go with their “riverboat” skillet. Boy am I glad I went with this choice. It was fantastic! The biscuits were some of the fluffiest I’ve had, and sausage gravy makes everything better. Small little quaint spot next to a gas station. Sometimes those are the best places. The staff was very friendly and the food came out quickly.

My husband and myself came here for his birthday the other day as we were looking for a new place to eat for breakfast as our other place isn't cutting it anymore. The atmosphere was delightful the owner was making rounds talking to each and every person I'd only saw those kinds of things at my favorite restaurant chubbys in Florida it was refreshing our server was super sweet cooked to perfection we will definitely be returning and I'll add the food was delicious did not disappoint your definitely missing out if you haven't tried this restaurant  Kid-friendliness: We brought our newborn and our almost three year old and the owner or manager came and was talking to us about his grandchildren was very inviting and not uptight

A group of six of us went to Stacks Sunday morning. I ordered a side order of hash browns and asked the waitress to have them cooked crispy, but when she brought them to the table, they weren't cooked crispy so I asked her to take them back. When she came back, she said they were too busy to cook them more and that they can only do that during the week. I guess if you order a well done hamburger and it comes back bloody they can only cook it the way you want it during the week. Then when my friend went to pay with her Visa gift credit card, they said it was a scam and wouldn't even run the card. It wasn't a scam, it was a Visa credit card. The food was too expensive to be insulted and not even get my food cooked the way I wanted it, so obviously I won't be back. I asked to talk with the manager who said the same thing, that they were too busy to cook my hash browns more and he apologized. I didn't want an apology, I wanted my hash browns cooked the way I wanted them. I've never had such a lousy experience at a restaurant in my life and I'm 74.

I had the Meat Lover's Omelette and I didn't quite finish it.  It came with a pile of crispy hash browns and covered my plate.  I can't wait to try their pancakes.  The food was very good as well as the service

I love Stack's! The staff are always super friendly, the food is delicious, and the waitresses are very attentive. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a delicious and affordable breakfast.

This is our go to place when we want to go out for breakfast.  The food is great.  The servers are so friendly and the service is fantastic. I highly recommend.Food: 5/5
