Four stars is a bit of a stretch for our experience however I'll be generous since we went during A Territorial Christmas Carol and it was packed. We arrive a little after 5 p.m. and we were told it would be 45 min-1 hour wait. They took my number and called when our table was ready. This was kind as there wasn't much waiting space and this allowed us to see the exhibits nearby. They called at five till 6 and we were there in minutes since we were across the street. We ordered drinks and said we were ready to order when they arrived. Our waitress said she'd be back to take our order. We got our salads after about 45 minutes and food about 15 minutes later (1 hour wait after placing the order). Two plates came out with gravy when they weren't supposed to and we asked twice for silverware and twice for an extra plate we never received. We never received refills except one person at the end got a water refill. Our plates were bused before she came back by to ask if we wanted our ticket and it took probably 20 minutes to get it and get a copy to sign. I don't know if our waitress was inexperienced or just having a bad day but her service was terrible. It shadowed over the taste and quality of the food. Overall the food was decent but the prices seemed a little high for a small town diner.

This spot quickly became one of my favorites in town. It's also a great location if you're visiting for a festival or show at the Pollard. I'm working my way through the menu, and everything is great. If you like the sound of the daily special, get it. They are always winners.

Where to start....the area this restaurant is in is older and beautiful. You walk in and there is pretty metal artwork on the floor. (Sorry forgot to snap a pic) We were seated within a couple of minutes as they were moderately busy. The decor is just gorgeous. Definitely has an original building feeling to it. Love the artwork on the walls and the ceiling is fantastic. Now the food. I got a bowl of chili. So good. Not too spicy, just the right amount of kick in my opinion. Comes with a yummy piece of cornbread and at $5.50 it was a good portion at a great price. My husband got the chicken fried steak with okra, mash potatoes and gravy, and cornbread for $11 and it was also a good portion. He said it was great and all tasted handmade and fresh. We finished with a piece of chocolate cake that was rich and delicious and enough for two. We saw this place on Discover Oklahoma. They liked it and it certainly did not disappoint. We also met Stacy. What a doll. And our waiter Zack was super sweet too. We will be back for sure.

Ready for a home cooked meal? This is the place. We were traveling back from Dallas and wanted to find that hidden gem. This was not far off our route and worth it! It's in a row of historical building. As you go in, there is 1 side that's a bakery and the other is the restaurant. We started by looking in the bakery display case and could not wait until desert. We had that picked out before order a meal. They offered pies. But not a full pie, but a personal pie size. Perfect to take with you for later, because trust me, you won't have room. The menu consists of every comfort food you can imagine and appears that most of it is created from scratch, not from a Sysco restaurant supply box. We came with a group at lunch and was able to get right in with a table large enough for 6 of us. While making a bathroom run, I noticed a large private room in the back. Appears to be used for private parties or business lunches. If I lived closed, that would be a great place to have a party. I can't wait to come back through and stop here again.
