Used to work here in high school and slightly beyond. The owners are cool dudes so I keep giving this place a chance. It used to be (and still is, I guess) hit-or-miss, but I've found that if you order the right thing nowadays, it's usually pretty good stuff. I'd recommend giving it a shot, but be careful, because the place has been kind of to quite consistently inconsistent in the last decade or so. Another place that is maybe becoming a victim of its own success and lore. Check your order before you leave if carrying out. Hell - check it if dining in. They lean with earnest toward screwing orders up. Trust me. You're welcome.

This is a nice place to go for the environment. They have taken over quite a large area and display local art and have live bands. The staff is a bunch of hippies which gives it a rather mellow mood. The food is good, I recommend a club foot sandwich.

I've been going to Staggering Ox since high school and it hasn't lost its charm. The food is good, not great. I like the teriyaki bowl, but if it's your first time going you must get bread guts! Cool atmosphere and lots of local art. Lots of seating. Prepare for a bit of a wait if you go during lunch hours.

Great sandwiches, but the price is a bit steep although well worth it. Wonderful homemade sauces and a large atmosphere to eat. A bar and restaurant are in the same building, often with live music.

Getting your food in a reasonable amount of time can be a challenge when you're dining in and there's a crowd already seated.  They give you a small placard that the servers can barely see when they're trying to find you.  I waited 25 minutes for a Quesadilla because they couldn't find my placard.
