Amazing hiking and bike riding areas, very peaceful, nice bathrooms and showers. Most people that work there are very nice as well. Only bad thing to say is that the fishing there isn't good

The primitive camping area is a little further down but has parking and fire pit rings with some pre-cut wood from the nearby fallen trees. I would recommend that you bring your own firewood and bottled water. It has trails leading from the campground.

Staff made what could have been a difficult experience into a welcoming one. The place was booked out but my friend and I just wanted to hike in and set up our tents for one night and then meet the rest of our group to hike up to the Deep Gap Campground. We arrived just an hour before sundown and found out it was fully booked and all the first-come/first served tent-only areas were already taken. We were about to get into the car and figure out something else when we came across two volunteers heading out after closing. We explained what we intended to do to ask for advice and they wound up pointing us to a drive-up spot that had no one currently in it for Friday night. They graciously opened the office back up and let us pay for a spot. We got to set up our tents before the sun went down, and returned our car the next morning to the hiking lot to meet with our group. We also returned from the woods in time to watch the eclipse in an open field. The area is very laid back and friendly.

Great time, great people and a great way to detach from electronics! Perfect place for kids to get dirty, fight over the biggest and best walking stick, jump in creeks, off trees, into rivers, find crawfish and gems in the water and explore! Judy, Peggy and Dale were great at the store and around the camp. Great bathrooms and showers. Will return again!

This place is not far from where I live. They've just upgraded the bathrooms with super nice showers. A nice quiet place to camp for a few nights and enjoy nature. They even have a small camp store if you run out of an item. There's a nice creek to play in although the water is super cold. I highly recommend Standing Indian.
