Stateline roofing left a flyer on our door saying they worked in our area.  So, you would think they would want some business.  I gave them a call about a leak we are having on our roof around our chimney.  I wanted someone to come out and give us an estimate for the repair.  

I called on Thursday morning and got voice mail.  I left a message.  On Saturday morning, I received a return call from "Richard".  He said he just got my message.  If I were a business and it took me two days to get a message, I would certainly look into THAT.  Anyway, I scheduled the appointment for Monday between 4:00 and 4:30.  I rushed home from work to make sure I was on time.  By 5:00, no call and no show.  I called the cell number for Richard that was on my caller ID.  When I told him that I had scheduled the appointment for today between 4:00 and 4:30.  I got a big silence and then, "Oh...was that today???"  He told me that he thought it was for tomorrow, and I said no, that I work late on Tuesdays and don't make appointments for Tuesdays.  Besides, when I made the appointment originally, I confirmed the date and time.  So, the phone goes silent and I hear crunching and paper rattling.  After about 3 minutes he says, "Are you still there?"  I confirm that I am, and then after about another minute of paper rattling, he asks if he could come out tomorrow?!?! 

Now, I just explained that I can't do Tuesdays, so I very politely just say "Thanks, but I think I will cancel."  No reply.  Nothing.  He just hung up on me.

My advice...don't even try these guys!  If that is what their customer service is like for an estimate, where a company usually tries to put their best foot forward, imagine what the actual job would be like!
