Laura Amodeo is actually the one writing this review. I spent a lot of time reading the reviews and the owner's responses and determined that this was a place worthy of exploring. I tend to dismiss the reviews that have bad grammar and poor spelling for obvious reasons. I love the table reservation system. We didn't have to worry about arriving early for a table or having someone take the table when we went to the dance floor. The $10 cover charge per person is paid when you reserve and pay for your table in advance. Since we have paid cover charges in the past ranging from $20 to $70, yes, I said $70 cover charge (The City in Cancun) a $10 charge is very reasonable. The bouncers did an excellent job of keeping the place clean, especially the dance floor. Creeps were promptly dealt with. ID was checked for EVERYONE. The waitress came around on a regular basis. The music was exactly what we expected....70"s, 80's and 90's, disco, pop and rock from our time period but toward the last hour of the night the music switched. It went to top 40 like Bruno Mars, Pitt Bull and DNCE which was just fine to rap and hip hop. We were not really expecting that since some of the reviews mentioned this type of music was not played and the owner's response mentioned that specifically. It was cold and rainy when we went (11-4-17) but I noticed the outdoor area and I can't wait to return when we can dance under the stars. I really don't think the bathroom attendant is necessary. She was very friendly but I don't need someone to squirt soap into my hands and hand me a towel. I can do those things myself. She had a large selection of items such as perfume, body spray, chocolates, hair ties, breath spray etc and I was glad she was there when a very drunk woman emptied the contents of her belly on the floor in the bathroom because the attendant promptly cleaned it up. However, I raised my family with an awareness to tip those who give you a service, so we felt we should tip every time we used the bathroom. This got old toward the end of the evening and we found ourselves avoiding the bathroom until it was absolutely necessary. Tips are optional but again, I raised my children to tip so we did. Clubs are notorious for apathetic owners, it was refreshing to find this one is not. I gave this review 5 stars because the two minor mentions are not something that would prevent us from coming back. We had a great time and we will return.

Had a few black male friends try to come in and denied because of footwear. However, white folk inside were wearing less than or equal to footwear. Not impressed and will NOT go back.

My wife and I went to Death at the Disco 5 last Saturday, and I'm sad to say that Stayin Alive is NOT the same place it used to be. We had gone to S.A. a few years ago with some friends, and it was great. Really reminded me of the old Boogie Fever night club, which is now closed. Great music, had a blast. Hadn't been back simply because we don't live the area. And we've been wanting to go to the Halloween party, but always had another to attend. This year, we decided to do Death at the Disco. And we were very disappointed. The DJ was not a good fit. 70s/80s music? Maybe at the beginning of the night. But as the place filled out, it was only a dash of retro music, and much more modern music. If I wanted modern music, I'd go to a modern club. Also, the DJ must think that the people on the dance floor have the attention spans of a goldfish. Every song was played barely 2 minutes, if that, and then it was on to the next song. Like it was some sort of race to get the most songs in one night. I was dressed as an 80s hair rocker, and tipped him $5 (during the modern music portion of the night) to play Pour Some Sugar on Me. I got ONE chorus, then he was off to the next song. Don't bother tipping the DJ to get your song played. Save your money for the pricey drinks. And whoever was hosting the costume contest, must live under a rock. Hey Stayin Alive, maybe next time hire someone worth ANY kind of pop culture knowledge to host your events. There was a woman dressed up like Katniss Everdeen from Hunger Games. He introduced her as "Bow & Arrow girl." My wife was wearing her cosplay quality Wonder Woman costume, and he introduced her as "Knight in Shining Armor." And there was a Star Lord there he introduced as something like "Lighted Eyes Guy." I mean c'mon dude! He must live the most sheltered lifestyle. Probably has no TV. And frankly will likely never see this review anyways, since social media must be a foreign concept to him. Otherwise, he'd have at least SEEN some mention of ANY of those characters. We paid our tab and left after that. The only redeeming thing about the night was our waitress Whitney. She was great. I don't foresee returning to S.A. again, unless we're joining some friends who are going there. Definitely won't be going on our own.

I went to Stayin' Alive for my 21st birthday with about 8 friends. The crowd was a nice mix of ages, and the clientele was respectful of others. Overall I had a great time and will not forget my 21st birthday experience. The DJ gave the birthday boys' and girls' shoutouts multiple times, which was nice. The drinks and cover charge were on the pricy side which is my only reason I did not give this place a 5 star rating. No free birthday drink either lol.
